Customer Review Summary

The eat-as-much-as-you-like menu is what most reviewers come for, and opinions split sharply on it. Supporters single out the crispy aromatic duck, chicken wings and spring rolls, and one diner mentions that a staff member deboned the duck and hot towels followed the meal. Others call the food decent or nice but the portions small, with one describing a chicken curry holding three pieces of chicken and samosas with little or no filling. Two reviewers report slow or missing dishes, a forgotten soup, no prawn crackers, and repeated requests for drinks and cutlery. Noise recurs: several say conversation became impossible once the disco music started, and one had to ask for it to be turned down. One reviewer reports a flat mussel shell in a curry that cut their mouth, and says the restaurant wanted to inspect the food before any refund. Another was curtly refused when asking to take leftover food home.

“Fantastic Chinese. Polite and efficient service. Good all you can eat variety and extensive a-la-carte menu. The chicken wings and spring rolls are exquisite. Duck is also good. Been many times - never had a bad experience, and good value for money combined with decent local parking availability makes it a no-brainer for me. Would recommend to all. Just go easy on the drinks - which are quite expensive.”

“Usually a nice restaurant and takeaway, but on the lastest occasion i was met by what looked like a broken knife blade in my curry. Upon inspection, it was a flat mussel shell which cut my mouth open. Luckily for me I didnt serve this to a young child. Upon speaking to the restaurant, they were resistant on any refund or empathy with this matter and insisted that they come and inspect the food before issuing any apology or refund. I will never use this restaurant again.”

“We had a table for 3 ,was waiting for a long time for our order to be taken ,they didn't give out prawn crackers ,forgot my soup and dish ,pretty disappointing when a party of 8 turned I felt they was the priority, when I felt we had a very disappointing experience there when we paid alot of money for which I didn't think was worth what we had and the service we had”

“I've given 2 stars only because the service, on the whole, was friendly and efficient. As for the food, it was made with cheap ingredients and of poor quality e.g. a chicken curry contained three pieces of chicken and masses of shallots. Filo pastry starters, including samosas (strangely...) were cheap and nasty, and contained little or no filling. You could eat as 'much as you liked', which given the quality, wasn't a great deal. And certainly not worth £30!! An extortionate rate for what we were served, which made me feel mugged off and cross. Also, we were charged £2.80 for pints of water. When I asked for one glass to be taken off the bill as it tasted foosty, the waitress snatched the bill away and was quite clearly furious. We had already paid well over the odds. I'd comment on the ambiance, but there was none. It was like eating in a food hall, not a restaurant. Lastly, we were all kept awake that night, and thirsty as hell the next day due to overdosing on MSG. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone. If you want a Chinese meal in Gravesend, get a takeaway - and not from here!”

“Absolutely terrible experience. We spent two hours in this restaurant and still did not get what we ordered. They advertise all you can eat, which is completely misleading. Portions are tiny, and if you ask for two portions, they bring one small one — if they bring anything at all. Food takes forever to arrive, and half the time it never comes. There are plenty of staff walking around, yet no one seems to care about customers. We had to ask repeatedly for basic things like drinks, food, and extra cutlery, and were mostly ignored. This place is chaotic, badly managed, and extremely disappointing. Do not waste your time or money, especially if you’re planning a family evening or special occasion. Highly not recommended.”
