  “Beautiful little restaurant. Excellent food, we both opted for the roast. The beef was so soft and a great portion size for the price. Desert was excellent, followed by coffee and fudge. We took our 10month baby (doesn't fit a pram) but our daughter was old enough to sit in the high chair provided.”

  “Was invited by friends for lunch today. A small intimate dining venue but packs a sensational taste experience. The food was outstanding and the service was professional and friendly. Would highly recommend this wonderful restaurant and we will definitely be back. Thank you to the Wee Lochan team.”

  “A great little high quality restaurant. It may look like a cafe/coffee shop but don't be fooled by the outward appearance. The menu is small but sufficient, however, the food quality is outstanding and great value. It doesn't serve alcohol but you can BYOB for a small corkage charge. I can recommend the Stornaway Black Pudding starter and Oak Smoked Haddock and Duck main courses.”

  “We were recommended this place by a chef friend, so we had high hopes. But OMG it was every bit as fabulous as they had said it would be. The menu choices were great. We chose the lamb and the cod as main courses. Absolutely gorgeous. Puddings were great too. Best decaf coffee ever. The BYOB means this top quality food is really affordable too. We will be back. My new favourite restaurant.”

  “I was a little intimidated at first by this little restaurant which was packed to the gunnels with people. But don't be put off, they make it work and you soon settle in. The food was as close to perfect as I've had in recent years, 3 cheese cauliflower souffle was light, creamy and delicious, the steak was perfectly cooked and seasoned with various different sides including parsnip (I think) puree, carrots, well well seasoned kale, chunky chips. My party had desert which by all accounts was outstanding. Everything is done above and beyond...this is the type of exceptional food it's hard to find and the price point is way below what they should be charging probably because of the slightly out of town location. Highly recommend but bring cash and your own booze.”

  “We had an absolutely sensational Sunday Lunch here, it truly was sublime from start to finish. The chef has such a passion for food and it was also a joy to watch him cook! Such a hidden gem and I cannot recommend enough, we will most certainly be back!”

  “Have been here on numerous occasions and have never been disappointed. We recently booked the restaurant for 20 people for a family celebration. Communication in the weeks prior to our meal was excellent. Understandably we agreed to a pre order and all guests received their food at the same time. Food was fantastic, thanks to Chris the chef. The service from Pauline and Chloe was exceptional. This restaurant is an absolute gem. We all had a wonderful night, nothing was too much trouble.”

  “The Wee Lochan Kitchen was recommended to us by a friend and our experience there exceeded our already high expectations. The staff were so friendly, thoughtful and kind. The chef adapted the menu for our dietary requirements including vegan and gluten free. The food was beautifully presented, reasonably priced and taste delicious. The red was cosy. The best experience of eating out in Scotland so far.”

  “I only had the pleasure of visiting the original Crow Road location once and really liked it. So after a walk we had a lovely visit here on a Sunday afternoon. I would recommend booking as there are only a few tables. We hadn't, but we managed to get a table outside. Service was excellent throughout. Menu offered fantastic value with current deals of 2 courses for £17 and 3 for £20. We both got the Sunday roast and along with the roast beef came a braised beef shin which was a fantastic meaty bonus. Everything was delicious and just the right amount of gravy. Starters were also of very high quality and taste. Don't be put off by the surrounding neighbourhood. I would recommend this little restaurant for a visit.”
