About Royal Shawarma & Grill
On Glassford St in Glasgow, Royal Shawarma & Grill is a Middle Eastern restaurant that opens daily at 33 Glassford St. The kitchen works around chicken shawarma, served as wraps, and lamb kebab skewers that come with thin flat Arabic-style bread and salad. A pizza oven sits alongside the grill, so pizza shares the menu with the shawarma. A small lentil soup is served complimentary, which gives the meal a warm extra course at no added cost to guests. Rice with split yellow lentils is available as a side. The food is halal.

Customer Review Summary
Shawarma is the draw reviewers raise most, with several calling it fresh and full of flavor and a few naming it the best they have had in Glasgow, the chicken in particular. The mixed grill earns praise close behind, and one reviewer also loves the pizza. Staff are described repeatedly as friendly and welcoming, and several find the prices reasonable and the portions generous, though one reviewer found a skewer meal with rice overpriced and too much for one person. The complaints are specific. One diner found the lamb fillets dry and rescued them with sauce, lemon juice and salad in a wrap. Another reports undercooked pizza with raw dough, a cold, half filled shawarma wrap and slow service. A third describes flies and rubbish on tables and being refused a salad wrap without meat, while another reviewer says vegetarian options exist. One reviewer was served a complimentary small lentil soup and found it flavourful.

“Wouldn’t make a salad wrap without the meat coz they don’t do that then asked about pizza and wouldn’t make that either. So no veggie option. Staff don’t care much about anything when we were ordering. Flies and rubbish lying around on tables. Portions small but large for (others) when chatting in their language! 100% will not be back or recommending Pizza oven was on and at temperature. Also enough salad to sort out a wrap”

“Excellent food and great service! The shawarma was fresh, delicious, and full of flavor. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant was clean and comfortable. The prices are reasonable, and the portions are generous. I highly recommend Royal Shawarma & Grill and will definitely be back! 🌯👏”

“I spotted this place which was packed out on the weekend. The lamb kebab screwer was tasty, it comes with the thin flat bread Arabic style, including salad like cabbage, lettuce. I added rice with half split yellow lentils (this is one standard rice) *realised afterwords they forgot the onions on top of rice and small chips as extras. This was way too much for one person, but I wanted to give it a try. I recommend ordering this if you are sharing with between, whilst asking for two skewers of meat of choice. I was served a complimentary small lentil soup which is standard in Arabic cuisine and restaurants, this is flavourful and nice. Overall for what I ordered, this was very overpriced for what I got for one person, in comparison to a previous restaurant I went to in Glasgow which is not far from here this was double the cost. If I had to come back I would choose chicken shawarma, or the lamb kebab on the skewer x2. I did not like the lamb fillets they were so dry, I had to add sauce and make it into a wrap add lemmon juice over it with salad. This was then pleasant to eat. *Avoid the lamb steak pieces, if you don’t like it dry. Service: very friendly workers but was slightly slow in hospitality. I had to look around for a while to get attention, in the end stood up and someone then did come over. This was on a quiet time. I paid over £20 for this without a drink.”

“Slow service, pizza undercooked and dough raw, shawarma wrap cold and half filled - better places close by. Wouldn’t recommend”
