About Deliciouscornerbakery

On Allison St in Glasgow, Deliciouscornerbakery is a halal restaurant serving mostly as a takeaway, with only one or two seats for those who want to eat in. The kitchen turns out chicken samosas, chana chaat and dahi bala chaat, alongside Lahore biryani and haleem, plus a chicken tikka bread roll for something more portable. Alongside the savoury menu, the bakery makes fresh cream birthday and eid cakes to order, with greetings piped on at no extra cost, and these can be arranged for large gatherings. There is no booking system, service runs on a walk-in basis, and the restaurant opens daily. Orders for cakes and food alike are taken at the counter rather than through reservations.

Customer Review Summary

Fresh cream birthday cakes draw the most comment, and reviewers split on them. One praises a cake that fed about 40 guests, and another notes greetings are piped on at no extra charge, while others report a cake that was mostly cream with very thin sponge layers, and a requested pineapple cake that arrived as plain vanilla with old cream. Close behind are the samosas, called "to die for", along with Pakistani style burger meals, chana chaat, dahi bala chaat and a chicken tikka bread roll. One reviewer calls the Lahore biryani generous but notes few chicken pieces for the rice, and another singles out the haleem. Delivery is described as sometimes late. Seating is limited to one or two seats, so one reviewer suggests treating it as a takeaway. More serious are the accounts of illness: one reviewer reports being sick after a chicken samosa, and another says their daughter developed vomiting and fever after lunch. A further reviewer says a server did not know what a hygiene certificate was. Even so, several regulars call the food delicious and good value.

“Continues to be the best Pakistani street food hub in Scotland. Really simple austere vibes in the shop. Very competitive prices. Only has one or two seats for anyone wanting to eat there. So only think of eating there if you're on your own, otherwise just treat it as a takeaway. Mouthwatering Pakistani style burger meals, various chana chaat and dahi bala chaat options, samosas, desi pasties, cheap made-to-order (phone order) fresh cream birthday/eid cakes(they will pipe on your greetings for no extra cost)-£20 for a 9 inch cake, £30 for the larger cake. EVERYTHING HERE IS SO TASTY!!!🙂”
