About Lilly’s

Set in the shopping centre at Easterhouse Township Centre, Lilly’s is a Chinese takeaway in Glasgow that cooks to order, so a wait comes with the food. Salt and chilli cooking runs through much of the menu, with salt and chilli chicken and salt and pepper chips arriving with onion and pepper mixed through the box. Curry sauce comes alongside chips and rice, and sauces such as satay can be added in a separate tub, while chicken chow mein sits among the noodle orders. There is no booking, with orders placed at the counter or over the phone, and questions about an order can be handled by phone too. Delivery suits anyone eating at home rather than collecting. A step-free entrance keeps the counter reachable for visitors with mobility needs. The shop trades every day of the week apart from Wednesdays, when it closes, so plan collections around that midweek gap.

Customer Review Summary

Salt and chilli and salt and pepper dishes dominate, with one diner calling the salt and chilli chicken with chips and curry sauce the best they have eaten and another happy enough with the salt and pepper chips to overlook the extra pepper and onion in the box. Close behind sits the chow mein, described by one as possibly the best chicken chow mein they have had and by another as decent though very spicy. Others single out the Hong Kong style sweet and sour chicken, a crisp pancake roll with a generous portion, and the lunch combinations of fried rice, noodles and curry that several call good value. Complaints cluster around orders and follow up: one describes repeating a request for no curry sauce twice only to have the food arrive smothered and binned, and another found the salt and pepper chips hard. A few note the counter can be hard to order at. The chips complaint ended with a request to pay delivery so they could be collected.

“Tried Lily’s twice now, both times the food was delicious, possibly the best chicken chow mein I have ever had. I’ve seen previous reviews about rude staff but this was definitely not my experience and they’ve been really nice. Highly recommend giving it a go.”

“This is by far the best Chinese I have had the pleasure to eat it was simple yet very tasty salt and chilli chicken with chips and curry sauce was simply the best I have ever ate. The service was fantastic not too long a wait and had to give them 5* for it. Overall thought the food simply outshines everything and this place is a gem its local to easterhouse and the locals must love having this place on the door step. I will definitely be back for another visit soon.”
