Customer Review Summary
Salt and chilli dishes draw the most mentions, from salt and chilli beef described as tender to spare ribs, a munchy box and a beef chow mein. Close behind are the chicken curry, chicken satay on skewers and honey chilli chicken, which one reviewer likens to Hong Kong style sweet and sour and another found a bit syrupy. Thai chicken noodle soup and chicken chow mein with chicken balls and curry sauce also get named. Not every order landed. One reviewer found the salt and chilli chips hard and seasoned with powder, and another found chewy chicken in black pepper sauce. One reports a chunkie box that was excessively salted, a rude phone call in which they were spoken over, and no cutlery, and suspects their skin colour played a part. Elsewhere reviewers praise good portions, fresh food with no grease, and rapid delivery. Several call the shop spotless, with counter staff cheerfully answering phones.

“I recently ordered a “chunkie box” takeaway priced at £25, and the experience was extremely disappointing. The food was excessively salted—far beyond what would be considered normal or safe to consume. It genuinely felt as though someone had poured salt over the entire meal. Concerned, I went home and contacted the restaurant to raise the issue. The first staff member who answered listened briefly, then put me on hold to pass me to someone else. The second person I spoke to was rude, repeatedly interrupted me, and spoke over me while I was trying to explain the problem. She claimed that when ordering, customers are supposed to specify how salty they want their food, and that because we didn’t, the level of salt was “normal.” This was shocking—at no point during our order were we asked anything about salt preference, only the size of the box. As a restaurant owner myself, I understand that customer safety and satisfaction should always come first. Serving food that is excessively salted can pose real health risks, and dismissing a customer’s concern in this way is completely unacceptable. Additionally, we were not given any cutlery with our order. Given the overall experience, this felt deliberate and raised serious concerns about how we were treated. I cannot ignore the possibility that this was influenced by our skin colour, which makes the situation even more upsetting. I made it clear during the call that I may need to take this further, including seeking legal advice if any health issues arise as a result of the food. This level of service, attitude, and lack of accountability must change. Customers deserve to be treated with respect and provided with food that is safe to eat.”

“Absolutely love lams kitchen and cafe, I had the Thai chicken noodle soup the other night delivered and it's my new favourite comfort food for cold nights, absolutely delicious brothy soup if you're feeling a tad worse for wear. I don't leave enough reviews in general but hats off to you guys, you never let us down. Such a welcoming and community adored team/family with fantastic customer service. I'm so picky with good Chinese takeouts, we hold off for lams!!😍 P.s. if you haven't tried their cafe you must try their Stornoway eggs hash no way! Always top quality ingredients cooked to perfection, the perfect cheeky breakfast date after dropping the kids off at school ;)”

“First time trying here and was pleasantly surprised. The chicken satay on skewers was lovely - sauce was amazing and the chicken tender. My daughter liked the salt and chilli chips but I found them rather hard. I felt they were just seasoned with chilli powder and little veg. I like them in chilli oil - not just powder- but it was a minor issue. Chicken curry was good, with lots of chopped chicken breast. Staff were lovely and the place was spotless. We will definitely be back.”

“Got the All Day special which was good value. Salt and chilli spare ribs to start and chicken curry for main were both lovely and good sized portions. Definitely one of the nicer curries I've had from the local takeaways . Added the honey chilli chicken on as seen it mentioned in multiple reviews. I enjoyed it. Not disimilar to sweet and sour Hong Kong style so I'd recommend if your a fan of that but definitely has the destinctive flavour of honey and a slight spice which hot the spot. Would recommend and will definitely be making the longer journey to go here again in future.”

“Fairly regular to this place sometimes delivery mostly drive to collect as live a few miles away. tonight wasn't the best for me personally. got a beef chillie spicy sauce and rice which was lovely for partner I tasted it and felt yes very good my own tho was a chicken and black pepper sauce. flavour wise tasted good but the chicken let it down , I often get chicken breast with orders tho tonight's was like a poor cheap version of chicken curled up chewy etc just not nice am sure most folk will know the type I mean and it let a good takaway down , I would definitely go back but for sure just stick to chicken breast type dishes when ordering that type of meat but the beef was the opposition and tasty”
