About Restaurant Next Door
Restaurant Next Door is a modern British restaurant at 68 Main St in Frodsham, housed in a 17th-century building and run as a partnership between a chef and a sommelier. The kitchen works market to table with locally sourced food, and the menus include a nine-course taster and a market menu. Wine pairings are offered with the menus, and the owner is the sommelier behind them. The kitchen adapts dishes for coeliac diners, and the restaurant is listed in the Michelin Guide. It opens Wednesday to Saturday and closes Sunday through Tuesday. A kümmel is served at the end of the meal.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often return to the tasting menu, with one diner choosing the nine course version and finding dishes they would never have picked themselves. Wine pairings come close behind, with several saying the matched wines complemented each dish and praising the sommelier owner's recommendations. On the market menu, diners describe a smoked pork fillet starter with buckwheat and wild garlic, quail that was melt in the mouth, gurnard with braised fennel and a deep bisque, and a chocolate cremeux with whey caramel. One urges ordering the triple cooked potatoes. A coeliac diner says the kitchen adapts nearly anything on the menu without shrinking the portion, and a few mention the restaurant's Michelin Guide entry. Staff are repeatedly called friendly and attentive, though one reviewer found some dishes exceptional and others just good. One family celebrating a mother's 80th birthday describes the staff helping keep a surprise cake secret for her.

“I’ve eaten at next door maybe 5/6 times Now and I can’t fault the food and service. They offer full tasting menu, ala carte And a cheaper market menu It seems a lot when they bring the menus But if you have a good idea what your looking to spend, having these options narrows it down straight away We recently went in for the market menu On a Friday eve, The smoked pork fillet starter with buckwheat and wild garlic, was cooked perfect, Not overly smoked, my wife had the trout With apple and yellow beetroot Really fresh and delicious Mains - quail, absolute melt in the mouth Texture and the gurnard was again cooked to perfection, with some lovely braised young fennel and a little bit of raw too, with a deep bisque sauce If you go here DO NOT think about not ordering there triple cooked potato’s There are a few add ons with supplements If you want to splash out a bit more on this menu To finish, we had the chocolate cremeux Whey caramel and creme cru Which was finished with popped amaranth And some sea salt - absolute heaven on a plate. Chef Ric and the team are absolutely smashing it, Tom and front of house make you feel so welcome and the knowledge they have about the food will just blow you away, easily 1 star food and service. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough”
