Customer Review Summary

Diners most often single out the halloumi starter, which turns up alongside calamari, squid, salmon and hummus, with the beef burger and wagyu burger close behind. Reviewers also name rib eye steak, lamb chops, seabass and a chocolate mint bomb dessert, and describe fresh, flavourful food in ample portions with a varied menu, a separate kids' menu, and staff they call welcoming and helpful. One family says they would like to return for the Mixed Grill. The criticism is sharper but less frequent. One reviewer describes a long wait for a burger and a mushroom gnocchi with no mushrooms, others served ahead of them without apology, and a grapefruit and rosemary gin and tonic missing the rosemary. That reviewer declined an offered drink on the house and mentioned the venue had changed management. Another says front of house staff seemed overworked and reports hearing that service charge and card tips do not reach them. One reviewer calls the lamb chops slightly overcooked but still succulent, with hearty gravy.

“UPDATE! Upon leaving we asked if this place was under new management. And they said yes. Read on! We do not know what happened at this place tonight. I was looking forward to enjoying a tasty meal from their nice menu which offers something for everyone but maybe that is the problem: the menu is too diverse to allow the kitchen staff to prep well / excel. Our burger and gnocchi (small portion and wold mushroom gnocchi with no mushrooms!) were not worth the money charged for the dishes at all plus we only received them after around an hour's wait and a table of people nearby who arrived after us were served before us with no apology. My meal arrived about 5 mins before my husband's - again with no apology. My gin and tonic with grapefruit and rosemary was a sad cocktail, sans rosemary and served with limes and... essence of grapefruit perhaps? My husband's Aperol spritz was equally poor. Not at all adequate for a place which dubs itself a cocktail bar. No salt and pepper on the table. No offer of condiments with the burger. We had to ask if any were available. We were offered a drink on the house so they must have seen we looked unhappy (which I declined because the cocktails were so poorly made) but still no apology was forthcoming. I am amazed this place has received so many stars on Google. Maybe they were having a bad night?”

“Came here for some dinner with my boyfriend and while the food was good and kitchen staff seemed lovely, the front of house staff seemed overwhelmed and overworked. From what I heard from staff they don’t receive service charge or tips apart from cash, which no one has anymore! I would not recommend simply because they don’t treat their staff right. Management seems selfish and horrible and doesn’t seem to care about their staff whatsoever. Do not come here if you care about people who make minimum wage!”

“We went there with some friends and had the set menu of £16.95. The food was delicious, most of us had squid as starter and seabass, also nachos, halloumi and shish kebab. It's a lovely big restaurant, staff are lovely. I would definitely come back. Would recommend.”
