About Neco Tantuni ve Künefe Salonu Enfield
Neco Tantuni ve Künefe Salonu Enfield is a Turkish restaurant at 4 Brick Ln in Enfield, built around tantuni cooked on a saj and assembled in front of customers. The tantuni comes with chicken or lamb, and a yoghurt version is topped with reduced butter. Künefe is cooked on rotating hobs used just for that dessert, then served warm with kaymak (clotted cream) or ice cream and finished with crushed pistachio. The menu also lists içli köfte, which are fried stuffed bulgur shells, and çiğ köfte, with ayran as the drink. The dining room is small inside, and parking nearby is limited. Payment is cash only.

Customer Review Summary
Tantuni is the main draw, called well-seasoned and fresh, and one reviewer who has eaten Mersin tantuni in Mersin says the taste here comes very close to the original. Chicken and lamb versions are offered, and a yoghurt version topped with reduced butter is described as rich and tasty. Künefe comes close behind, served warm with kaymak or clotted cream, and several call it the best they have had, singling out the heat and frying level. Içli köfte and ayran also earn praise, and staff are described as friendly, with one regular saying a long-serving server remembers customers and treats them like family. The caveats centre on portions and pace. The tantuni are small enough that one diner needed the two-piece yoghurt version as a main meal, and another found the künefe too sweet and syrupy. A critical reviewer rated the tantuni and köfte only OK and said the kitchen struggled to keep up with demand when busy, suggesting chicken and lamb be cooked separately on two stoves.

“Hidden gem — authentic Turkish street food at its absolute best! Neco Tantuni & Künefe is the kind of place you stumble upon and immediately want to keep as your secret. Tucked away in Enfield, this tiny family-run spot serves up some of the most flavourful, homely Turkish street food I’ve had outside of Turkey itself. The tantuni is the real deal — perfectly spiced, beautifully cooked on the saj, and assembled right in front of you with fresh toppings. Every bite is packed with flavour. But don’t sleep on the künefe — it might be the best I’ve had in London. Crispy shredded pastry soaked in syrup, served warm with clotted cream or ice cream, finished with crushed pistachio. Just the right level of sweetness — not too much, not too little. Pure bliss. The içli köfte (fried stuffed bulgur shells) were equally impressive — crispy outside, flavourful inside, with the sauces to match. The service is warm, friendly and genuinely welcoming — you feel like a guest in someone’s home. The place is clean with a cosy, rustic feel that adds to the charm. This has become a firm regular for me. Highly recommend to anyone who loves proper, honest Turkish food. Just go. You won’t regret it. 🇹🇷”

“The tantuni here is absolutely delicious, well-seasoned, and definitely worth trying. On top of the great taste, the prices are highly affordable and budget-friendly for the quality you get. The only downside is that they only accept cash, which can be a bit inconvenient if you are not prepared. Make sure to visit an ATM before heading over. Overall, it is a great place for a quick and tasty meal, and I highly recommend it!”

“Tasty food. The tantuni themselves are quite small so I tried the yoghurt option which had two, as I was eating it as a main meal. It’s quite rich so two was enough for me tbh. Next time I’ll try the chicken tantuni. Perhaps it was a mistake to try the kunefe straight after as this was also very rich. This is a super popular desert and quite similar to baclava, and the one here came highly recommended. The desert isn’t for me I’m afraid - though well made- tasted like very syrupy shredded wheat stuffed with mozzarella and was just too sweet for my taste. These guys are doing a roaring trade and were busy as soon as they lifted their shutters and is quite small inside so probably not long until they expand. Limited parking available here but they do takeaway. Remember though - it’s cash only.”

“Everything was amazing. We loved the food and ate second time. The problem was that when we went for the payment we were asked to pay as cash. Luckily one of our friend had card to draw some money… I can’t imagine the case if I was alone.. I have asked them did we miss any sign cuz I would never go otherwise. I suggest hanging a sign for “Cash only””

“Tantuni and kunefe at Neco Tantuni Ve Künefe Salonu. Killing two birds with one stone. I love tantuni so ventured to Enfield since this place offers kunefe as well as tantuni. They offer chicken and lamb tantuni. There is a sophisticated version of tantuni with yoghurt topped with reduced butter which makes it rich and tasty. The kunefe was the best I've had in London served with kaymak [clotted cream]. It was heated to perfection and not too burnt or crispy. They have unique rotating hobs just for the kunefe which I haven't seen but then I have only had three kunefes so far. I regretted not trying the cig kofte because they don't add mint into it according to the menu ingredients listed.”
