Customer Review Summary
Diners most often point to the banquet and the set lunch menus, where a choice of starter and main earns praise for generous portions. Reviewers name the Panang curry (one had it with tofu and coconut rice), the Tom Kha, Pad Kraprao, Gai Manow, the dumplings, satay skewers, crispy rolls, and grilled king scallops. Close behind, several describe friendly, helpful staff who explained dishes, topped up wine and water, and engaged with tired children, and one said a gluten free order was handled without trouble. A few call the food close to eating in Thailand, and one notes the pad thai is cooked with onions but still tasty. The recurring complaints are smaller: one reviewer found portions small and felt rushed, with plates cleared mid-meal and the table wiped as they stood to leave, while another mentions tight squeezes between some tables. One reviewer who visited mid-afternoon suggests booking in advance. A reviewer who stayed for a birthday meal in the private room downstairs says they had space to manage the children's tantrums.

“What a great find - of course thanks to Google Maps. We had a fantastic lunch here. They had a lunch menu where we could each choose an appetizer and a main dish from a small list of choices. We had the satay skewers and crispy rolls to start with, and a noodle dish and a duck dish as the mains. Amazing food, fast service - best Thai we had in weeks. Highly recommend.”

“The food tasted fine, but unfortunately the portions were quite small and the service was very disappointing. What bothered us most was how rushed we felt throughout the meal. The staff started clearing the table while we were still eating, and as soon as we stood up to leave, they immediately began wiping down the table before we had even properly left the restaurant. It really gave us the impression that they were eager to get us out as quickly as possible. The rushed service made the overall experience much less enjoyable.”

“We were exploring New Town in Scotland and were searching for a place to eat lunch. Instead of looking on the bustling Rose Street, we opted for the more quiet, intimate Thistle Street. And that is where we found Dusit Thai restaurant….exactly what we were looking for! Dusit is a small intimate Thai restaurant with exceptional food and service. Our family of 4 each ordered a different lunch special and every one was amazing! The portions were generous and the prices were very reasonable. It is worth getting off of the beaten path to find Dusit. We highly recommend Dusit!”

“Amazing thai restaurant in the city center. + the pad thai was very tasty. Not exactly the original recipe as this one is cooked with onions, but still delicious + the grilled king scallops were delicious! + presentation of the dishes was lovely + the food came very fast We went around 2:40pm so it was easy to get a table, but probably better to book in advance.”
