Rustico Harbour (Eastbourne Marina) is an Italian restaurant at 10-11 The Waterfront in Eastbourne, set at the marina. Pizza anchors the menu, including a thin, wood-fired Neapolitan-style pizza. Customer Review Summary
The complaints are specific. One diner called the vegetable lasagna the worst they had eaten, with sloppy green sauce, heavy salt and no identifiable vegetables, and sent it back after two mouthfuls while also citing a long wait for mains as takeaway orders went out. Another received a soggy, burnt, cold pizza through delivery, was refused a refund by the manager, and was offered a replacement only if they collected it themselves. The pizza in the dining room looked fine to the lasagna reviewer, and the delivered one is the only one criticised.

“As an Italian, I rarely say this outside of Italy, but this place is the real deal. From the very first bite, I could taste authenticity in every detail. The pizza is simply outstanding: perfectly balanced dough, beautifully fermented, light yet full of flavor, with a crust that achieves that ideal harmony of crispness and softness. The ingredients are top quality—fresh, vibrant, and treated with the respect they deserve. What truly elevates this restaurant, though, is the hospitality. Complimenti, I will absolutely be back. Thank you”

“I had the worst vegetable lasagna I have ever experienced. Sloppy green sauce, very salty, no identifiable vegetables in it just white lumps and chopped up pasta thrown into a enamel dish. No presentation or effort to make this very unwholesome dish look appetising. The wait for the mains was unacceptable too though the starters came out in a reasonable time. I sent my lasagna back to the kitchen after two mouthfuls. It was revolting. It looked and tasted like no other vegetable lasagna I've even seen. I also noted that takeaways meals were going out whilst we waited for our main courses and unreasonably long time. It spoilt our family occasion completely. I refused the offer of something else to eat as the experience put me off. My party would have had to wait for me to get my dish if it took the same time to get to the table. The pizzas looked OK hence 3 stars. We won't be going back to Rustico Eastbourne Harbour.”

“Ask for pizza through deliveroo the customer service was not helpful at all spoken to restaurant manager not helpful at all wouldn't issue refund for a soggy burnt cold pizza ill will never go here again. "Thanks for the response. I appreciate the offer of a replacement, but the issue was that the food arrived in a state that didn't match the 'authentic' experience you describe. Suggesting a customer drive to pick up a replacement defeated the purpose of paying for a delivery service. I have followed up with Deliveroo as suggested, but I hope you’ll take the feedback on board regarding how the food travels.""Appreciate the 'love and pizza,' but the love was lost in transit. If the solution to a failed delivery is for the customer to act as their own delivery driver for a replacement, the system is a bit broken, isn't it? Feedback noted on the style, but the execution on the night just wasn't there.""While I appreciate Gigi’s offer of a free pizza, the suggestion that I collect it myself ignores the fact that I paid for delivery because I wasn't able to come in. Authentic or not, the pizza I received didn't meet the standard I expected for the price paid. I’ve reached out to Deliveroo for the refund, but a bit more accountability for the 'soggy' state of the transit would have gone further than an offer I couldn't use." use "authenticity" as a shield. Neapolitan pizza is naturally softer/wetter than a New York slice, but it shouldn't be a puddle. "The condescending tone of this response is as disappointing as the meal was. To clarify: I am well aware of what a Neapolitan pizza is; however, 'authentic' should not be a synonym for the quality issues I experienced. Telling a customer that their own eyes are wrong about the food they are eating is a bold move. Furthermore, suggesting that I should drive to the restaurant to collect a 'free' replacement completely misses the point of paying for a delivery service in the first place. If I wanted to pick it up myself, I wouldn't have used Deliveroo. I’ve dealt with the refund through the platform, but I’ll be skipping the 'love and pizza' next time for a place that values customer feedback over excuses."”
