Customer Review Summary
Reviewers return most for the big portions of homemade pub-style food, with the steak and ale pie, steak and kidney pudding, and a chicken parmo topped with steak fillets named among the mains. Close behind are a Greek lamb burger, chilli con carne with tortillas and sour cream, and a cottage pie with a dumpling that one diner hadn't tasted the like of since childhood. Desserts draw their own mentions, including a strawberry and raspberry Eton mess, sticky toffee pudding and a cheesecake one diner's daughter called the best she'd ever tasted. Several say the food arrives hot and tasty, and a couple admit they couldn't finish their plates. Staff are described as friendly, attentive and welcoming, and the owner gets a mention for greeting people at the door. Value is called reasonable, with one diner praising a two-course set menu. The one recurring practical note is that the place is popular, and a few reviewers say booking is needed to get a table. No real complaints surface. One pair left too full for dessert, so they shared the Eton mess.

“Had a great meal here with the family. The portions are huge and everything was really tasty. I had the Greek lamb burger which was absolutely spot on, my wife loved the parmesan, and our toddler happily tucked into the spaghetti. Friendly atmosphere and great food — we’ll definitely be back!”

“A SIMPLE BUT LOVELY RESTAURANT Well what a nice surprise this visit was, for myself and my husband. After many friends and family contacting me to come and try this lovely little restaurant we were both very pleasantly surprised by the cosiness and friendly atmosphere by all the staff and the FOOD was amazing. It was reasonably priced and so well presented and very filling, tasty, homemade and with plenty of choice for everyone. We had Soup of the Day which was lovely and hot, hubby had the Steak and Ale pie, which I had a taste of and it was delicious, the meat just melted in your mouth and the puff pastry top was so light, I had the Chilli Con Carne with Tortillas and sour cream, just beautiful and we were so full we shared a Strawberry and Raspberry Eton Mess my favourite dessert and the best I have ever tried. So if you are looking to try really good homecooked food in a small and quaint restaurant then look no further than here, we will be coming back and I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. Thank You.”
