  “Wonderful little treat set in a small street just off the scenic bridge. I feel that I need to give a special mention to our waitress, Lilly. She was charming and welcoming. She made our experience wonderful. Highly recommend”

  “🤢 hmmm stopped here for lunch, I wish we hadn't. Had the handmade burger, tasteless meat and the bun was soaked with sauce that made it wetter than an otters pocket! Came with thick cut fries that were burnt to death! Lovely, not! Gwenders was similarly naff, wet bread 🤮 Good cup of tea though 👍”

  “Food was not very tasty, the menu is also not appealing. waiter that served us was polite but inattentive and was quite blasé. I ordered a mocha, they forgot about it initially, and when it came it was not very nice. I had some fries which were either undercooked, or cooked in oil that is not hot enough as they were soggy and had absorbed a lot of oil. The cakes are also not made in house, but bought elsewhere,,, to be honest, based off the quality of the rest of the food, that's a wise choice as it seems the cakes are enjoyed by people here. wouldn't wish to spend money here again”

  “Had brunch there on father's day. My poor husband had a nit very nice full English breakfast. My poached eggs were solid even though I asked for particularly runny yokes. Avocado tasted a but fake. Coffee and cakes are good though”

  “Great place to eat or just have a drink (though with a stunning array of cakes near the till it’s hard to resist!). Nice atmosphere and the staff were kind and helpful. I had the chorizo hash which was just my kind of meal, delicious! Highly recommended.”

  “Love this place! The vibe is cozy, romantic with a touch of country style. Prices were reasonable, whereas the food was surprisingly high in quality and flavourful. The only thing that could be improved is the cleanliness of the tables and the washroom. Definitely will come again!”

  “A bit busy on the weekend, finding a table can be a bit of a challenge. The portions are generous; I had the mushroom sourdough, which was packed with flavor. The coffee is excellent and smooth, I tried both an Americano and a flat white, and both were rich and satisfying.”

  “Great little Café but very busy. Reasonably priced drinks, the white hot chocolate is to die for, it's so good! And the cake is good too. The Oreo stack was so good and Berry muffin was unreal. It was a great place to stop and rest during a busy day”

  “Really good food - the Roasted Cauliflower Flatbread was amazing. Very nice building. A great selection of cakes at the counter - with gluten free and vegan options available.”

  “Called in for lunch while in Durham as a few things on the menu really appealed, and we weren't disappointed. The food was great, my wife had a Falafel Salad and I had the burger and both were excellent. We followed with a Chocolate Orange brownie and a Peanut Stack which again were excellent. The rest of the cakes looked very tempting as well. Staff were very efficient and friendly and the food was very quick once ordered. We will definitely return!”
