Customer Review Summary
Pasta is the dish reviewers raise most, from the Linguini Puttanesca to a prawn and salmon pasta on the graduation menu and a seafood pasta, with portions described as good. Close behind are the smash burgers from the vegan menu, and reviewers also point to the full vegan menu and a separate gluten free menu. Brunch draws the Eggs Benedict with smoked bacon and a three pancake stack, with breakfast items served until noon. The bang bang chicken and chicken Malyan curry also get mentions. Diners describe friendly, speedy service, a spot on the river, and a stunning decor of chandeliers and paintings. Criticism is mild and scattered. One reviewer found the food very average and not top quality, one thought the flat white on the small side, and the arancini starter was quite rich. Several visits were celebrations, and one family recalls a server going out to the shops for a blue WKD bottle when none was in stock.

“We celebrated our middle daughters 24th Birthday and thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The food was excellent and service brilliant, the staff were amazingly friendly and attentative. Blair went above and beyond and went for a blue wkd bottle for our daughter from the shops as they didnt have any in stock, which was brilliant of him. Thank you all staff. Food fantastic.”

“Down to earth bar/pub with a little cafe attached. Friendly staff . Last remaining full time pub in a village that at one time had a pub on every corner. Cafe does a good Sunday dinner at a good price. The Flintlock is welcoming oasis in a village which offers very little social opportunity.”

“Ordered off two different menus and nothing was too much trouble, the prawn and salmon pasta dish on the graduation menu was possibly the best pasta I’ve had (and I’ve had pasta in Italy!) the smash burgers on the vegan menu were amazing. Second time we have eaten here and never been disappointed”
