About The Fair Green Public House
The Fair Green Public House is a bar on Horse Fair Grn in Doncaster with guest rooms on the floor above, and check-in for those rooms happens at the bar itself, so the bar staff hand over keys as part of running the pub. Food is served on site, with breakfast for guests in the morning and meals in the evening. The rooms are ensuite, towels are provided, and single rooms form part of the stock, with flat-screen televisions fitted throughout. Anyone wanting a drink goes through to the pub side, where the bar operates daily. A step-free entrance means visitors with mobility needs can get in without steps, and seating outside gives the option of eating and drinking in the open air. Booking ahead is advised. Parking on site is free for those arriving by car.

Customer Review Summary
Friendly, helpful staff draw the most consistent praise, from the bar worker who checked one guest in between pulling pints to the warm welcome several describe at the pub reception. Breakfast comes up repeatedly as good or lovely, and one guest calls both the evening meal and breakfast superb after a night in a tastefully refurbished single with a comfy bed and roomy bathroom, adding that the shower needed more oomph and that some local ales would help. The downstairs bar draws mentions for its atmosphere and value drinks, though one reviewer notes having to go into the pub side for a drink. Rooms divide opinion sharply. Several found theirs cold, including a freezing bathroom with a towel radiator that did not work, and cleanliness complaints recur: a dirty sheet, one towel and one cup, a musty smell, plus one reviewer's account of a heavily stained blanket. Another reports no working WiFi. Noise runs through the negatives too, doors banging, shouting and singing in the corridors past 1am, and other guests' phone alarms at 4:30.

“The food was amazing. Very pleasant and warm , only thing is when you need a drink you had to go into the pub side .”

“I stayed for 1 night . The reception is in the pub and the barmaid had to pull few pints before I booked and in.quick service though. The room was very clean and warm. The bathroom was immaculate and quite big.although I was in a single room there was still plenty of space . The bedding was smart and fresh and the room well decorated . No complaints”

“Think this is more of a party hotel than a family one. Room smells a little musty. Came to check in and they had rock music on a large flat screen tv so loud we couldn’t hear what the gentleman behind the bar was saying. Lots of shouting and patying going on outside until about 1am so had trouble sleeping. Other guests noisy could here them talking and banging doors and then at 430 heard there phone alarms going off so not much sleep for either of us all night. Apart from that they were friendly and helpful rooms worth what we paid.”

“This pub is great. The people who drink here are fun. The bar staff including me are excellent. But not all. One needs re-education in race relations and manners. But the owners 100% and the Fairgreen family. Fantastic.”

“Looks nice from the outside, no staff around for queries, had to pick keys from safe box outside, then instructed to go to the room via the booking confirmation. Upon entering the room I saw that it wasn't all that great, it was cold and uninviting, the only saving grace was that it was carpeted, unlike the last place I stayed in night before last, the bathroom was freezing cold and the towel heater/radiator didn't work, I managed to have a shower which was great as it was blistering hot and I managed to keep my skin after trying to work the inadequate controls to 45° temp. The tea/coffee facilities were adequate, and helped me keep warm, due to the size of the radiator wasn't big enough to warm the room properly, but eventually it did get warm, my works van was warmer than that room!!!!! even though I slept in my Pj's (which I was glad I packed, for 'just in case'). I also thought to myself that I would get the spare blanket out to put over the bed so that it would help me keep warm through the early hours when the heating goes off, well I wish I didn't look at it😩😩, as I saw there were dark red stains on it, I braved it and sniffed it (cos that the type of person I am) and it stank of what I knew to be of ladies menstruation, believe me I know the smell (being an ex squaddy), so I put that back rather sharpish, I even showed my colleague to verify what I found because it does sound very out landish. This isn't something that I take lightly and would make up. If you're hoping to take advantage of the free WiFi I'd think again, there is no WiFi available, I tried on my phone and my tablet to no avail. Also to top it off at 1am people were in and out of the doors, slamming it all the time, shouting and singing down the corridor then at 4am there was someone singing again in the corridor, I thought it was at 5am, but my colleague said it was actually earlier (I was so tired I couldn't even read my watch properly), if it weren't for the fact that I was trying to keep warm and waking up at 6am for work, I would of got up to tell him to shut the f**k up, any way my colleague knocked on my door at 07.20 to show me what looked like the singing bloke lying drunk/drugged up in the corridor, still trying to belt out a tune and staggering around the corridor, so we made our escape rather quickly. In a nutshell (a bad day in beruit would of been better than here), needless to say I won't be recommending this place to anyone, I've stayed in some s**t holes in my time but this takes the biscuit, if I could give it 0⭐'s I would.”
