Customer Review Summary
The Sunday roast is what most reviewers praise first, with beef and pork offered separately or together, tender meat, perfect Yorkshire puddings and plenty of roast potatoes. The vegetables get their own mentions, including cauliflower cheese, red cabbage, parsnips and charred cabbage. Close behind are the fish dishes and pies: a homemade fish pie, fresh Cromer crab, moist swordfish and a steak and Stilton pie. Key lime pie and other homemade desserts round things off. Staff are repeatedly described as friendly and excellent, and the lovely garden at the back gets a mention. The one complaint is parking. One reviewer had to leave the car in the field at the back, which was unlit, and another calls booking a good idea. One party with several dietary intolerances describes the bar person going out of her way to help, and the chef talking through the menu options before they ordered.

“Met friends last night and couldn't fault it the food was amazing all 4of us had something different and all very delicious and beautifully presented. Would highly recommend. If I had to say 1 negative is the parking I had to park at the bottom(field) which wasnt lit so a little bit scary and dangerous.”

“We visited the railway arms today, to see what it was like and look at the menu for a possible meal another day. It said online that they catered for GF/Ve and intolerances. We decided to stay for dinner, as we felt so comfortable there. There is loads of parking at the rear, accessed via a driveway directly to the left of the pub, between the buildings. There is plenty of parking, as there is a whole field at the very back. The garden was very appealing, it was well kept, and tidy. With a few benches and umbrellas well sited. The pub itself had a inviting atmosphere, and we were welcome by people as we entered the pub. The bar person was friendly and helpful, went out of her way to assist is with our dietary needs. The chef chatted through our menus options, to ensure everything would be ok for us. In our party we had; One vegetarian, one Milk and soya bean intolerant, one Gluten and milk intolerant, not an easy task to deal with. I ordered Thai curry with a nan, to make it GF/MF. Others ordered mixed grill, fish pie, and macaroni cheese. The children had tomato cheese pasta, and hot dog, the children's meal came with ice cream for after. Adults followed their with brownie, lemon meringue, and cheese board. I have 3 scoops ice cream; 1xchocolate and 2xsalted caramel. We all agreed is was really lovely food, and the staff delivered excellent customer service. We had a enjoyable experience, we wouldn't have asked for more. Thank you to the team..5* Sorry no photos, as we were hungry”

“Had an amazing lunch, hard to choose what to have as everything sounded amazing, had the swordfish, moist and tasty. The steak and Stilton pie was also amazing, best pie I've had in a while and the homemade desserts were very good. Definitely worth the drive over, will be back very soon!!”
