Customer Review Summary
Friendly, helpful table service is what reviewers raise most. Several describe waiters who fixed a small dessert error straight away, and one staff member kept checking on a family stranded for over two hours without a taxi. Food earns praise too: the Clarksons Pie chosen for a birthday, a lemon meringue pie one diner took away, and a ghost chilli burger, scampi and prawn cocktail that one table said blew them away. Portions are called good, though one reviewer finds them slightly smaller than before. The main complaint is overcooking. Two parents describe burnt kids' meals, with chicken dippers and fish fingers called inedible. Another reviewer received a tiny, incinerated extra beef patty, chips that were mostly small crispy bits, and a korma like watery soup. One table said nobody checked back on their food. Another reviewer, whose child's chips were missing, had them supplied as soon as it was established they were part of the meal.

“I’m genuinely sorry to leave this review, but unfortunately, this was one of the worst meals we’ve had in a while. The kids’ meals were acceptable, but the adults’ meals were very disappointing. I paid an extra £2 for an additional beef patty, only to receive a tiny, completely incinerated piece of meat that looked more suited to the children’s menu. The chips appeared to be the very end of the bag and were mostly made up of small, overly crispy bits. My wife ordered a korma, and aside from the chicken pieces, it was more like a watery soup than a korma. To add insult to injury, we were paying nearly £7 for a pint. Thankfully, the staff were very friendly and helpful, which was probably the biggest positive of the visit. I had a 40% voucher, which certainly lessened the blow of spending my hard-earned money, but I still left another voucher there for future use. Unfortunately, I don’t think I’ll be in any rush to make the mistake of coming back anytime soon.”

“Well!! amazing what a few days can make, we went on Sunday for a roast but was not a good visit. Yet today Thursday it was lovely. Food was good, service excellent, waitress and manager very friendly. My dad, said it was the best lemon meringue pie he has ever had! And took one away with him! If we are ever this way again we would visit again.”

“We went for my son’s birthday as he wanted to have the Clarksons Pie. It was the first time we’ve been for a while. We were met by Scott, who was our waiter, and I can honestly say we will be back. Nothing was too much trouble for him. He was courteous, efficient and polite and the food was good. Thank you Scott for the enjoyable experience.”

“The adult food we ordered was pretty bog standard. The kids meals that come out was shocking. Chicken dippers burnt and over cooked, inedible. The fish fingers were so over cooked and burnt the fish inside was non existent, looked like something you had left in your air fryer for a week. The beans were dry like they had sat there too long. We had no check back done on our table to ask how our food was. Overall wouldn’t return.”
