  “I’ve been wanting to check this coffee shop out for ages and I was not disappointed! The coffee is amazing the cannolis are like the ones you get in Italy. The atmosphere is fantastic and aesthetic and the staff are friendly. Highly recommend 😊”

  “Absolutely love this spot. Service is always great and the vibes are lovely, so welcoming and a comfortable spot whether you're by yourself or with friends. Great range of drinks on offer and I love that their sweet treat range changes up - there's always something scrumptious that grabs my attention and I appreciate the variety. The sandwiches are also great value and very tasty. I believe that everything is available for dine in or takeaway which I also appreciate. I often come in for a coffee or a strawberry milkshake💓”

  “I discovered Nixon Coffee while in Derby for rehearsals for an upcoming show, and I’m so glad I did. From the first visit, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the coffee was excellent — exactly what you need during long rehearsal days. A special mention has to go to the manager, Jai. I explained I was only visiting the area temporarily and wouldn’t be back regularly, yet he still gave me a loyalty card and even added an extra stamp. It was such a small gesture, but it genuinely meant a lot and really reflected the kind of customer service that makes somewhere stand out. True to my word, when I returned to Derby for the actual show — even though I was only there for one night — I made a point of going out of my way to visit Nixon Coffee again. Jai was there once more, just as pleasant, welcoming and accommodating as before. I’m now only a couple of stamps away from a free coffee, so it looks like I’ll have to arrange another trip back to Derby - and to this lovely café. Sometimes great customer service costs nothing; it’s simply about being kind, thoughtful human beings. Thank you, Jai, and the team at Nixon Coffee. Definitely worth a visit.”

  “Now THIS is a place, which I call a little gem! Never before had I heard of Nixon Coffee (or even knew of its existence) before my friend suggested we meet there one day. Although it isn't situated bang in the centre of Derby city centre, it makes for a chilled and quiet space in which to reflect, enjoy a coffee and a snack if you so choose. I love that it has a funky interior, which makes for a really cosy space, with comfortable seating. There is also a long and thin table the length of one of the windows, with a number of seats, which is great for simply watching the world go by, while sipping on a silky smooth cappuccino and reading a book. So when my friend and I entered, we decided to have a coffee and grab a bite to eat. We both went for a sandwich too, which was served lovely and warm and didn't take too long to arrive. From what I can remember, they were filled sandwiches unlike some places, whose sandwiches contain minimal filling. We sat on one of the comfy couches, admiring the decor of the coffee shop, which used to be Nixon Jeans in a previous life. The staff were really friendly and bid us farewell upon our departure. I enjoyed our time there so much, that I decided to return a few weeks later. I had a day, where I wasn't doing much, so I parked up outside of the city centre and took a stroll, journal in hand, to Nixon Coffee. This time, I was greeted by a very friendly chap, with whom I made conversation about the journal I had. I pulled up a chair by the window and was able to put pen to paper for a while, enjoying my coffee and a slice of cake. The cake did take a little longer to arrive, as I understand they were sorting out orders etc. So I gently reminded the staff about it, whereby they apologised and brought it over straight away (no issues at all, these things happen sometimes!) To be honest, I think this has become one of my favourite places to enjoy coffee in Derby (actually, it's probably my go-to place now!) I definitely look forward to returning again in the future, to once again indulge in a hot drink and a sweet treat. Many thanks to Nixon Coffee!”

  “Absolutely love this place! Nixons staff are always so friendly and kind, great variety of drinks and lovely finishing touches like this little pumkin! Often themed little seasonal stickers on take out cups too! They do vegan bakes regularly (they seem to go so quickly unsurprisingly though!) Genuinely the only thing I'd love to see more of here is a few more vegan food options, otherwise fantastic place! I'll be coming here plenty over the years. Update: I went here as it was the nearest safe place after I was the victim of a crime last week, the staff were so kind and made sure I was okay, gave me tea and talked with me until the police arrived. Genuinely the nicest staff and cafe around 💜”

  “Tried Nixon Coffee and really enjoyed it overall. I ordered an iced pistachio latte along with two regular lattes. Would recommend the iced pistachio and didn’t get any complaints from the latte drinkers, so assumed they enjoyed it too. I also had a cheese toastie which I expected to be more like a Costa style sandwich, but it turned out to be a single slice of thicker bread rather than a full sandwich. That being said, it was on display and I didn’t look properly, so that one’s on me rather than the cafe Nice atmosphere and good coffee, would definitely come back again.”

  “A 5-star local coffee shop, for sure. Great coffee, a cozy atmosphere, fresh donuts, and a surprisingly extensive selection of teas. This independent coffee shop is exactly what I was missing personally in Derby. P.S. Sandwiches fresh and tasty, too. Staff is customer service oriented.”

  “One of the cosiest coffee shops in town. The vibe is amazing and perfect place to chill out. The staff is very friendly with warm smiles. A good selection of cakes, coffee and savouries. The chocolate and lemon cakes were wonderful. They also serve wine and a few types of bottled/canned beer which is great. Definitely going to be one of the regular places to visit.”
