About Sanchini’s Coffee Bar
Sanchini's Coffee Bar is a small independent coffee shop at 11 Town St in Belper, where everything on the counter is baked in-house. Cakes, brownies and pastries sit alongside the coffee, including almond croissants and cheese scones. The menu includes a flat white, and special coffees rotate for customers to try. The team explains brewing details such as brew ratios, yields and draw speed. Coffee beans are sold to take home, and the decaf beans are a blend. Dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
Coffee is the draw for nearly every reviewer, with several calling it the best in Derby and one Australian reviewer saying the flat white has proper texture and flavour. The decaf earns its own praise for still tasting like real coffee, and a few reviewers buy beans to take home. Close behind are the baked goods, including cake, brownies and pastries, described as yummy, lovely and divine, and one reviewer mentions staff advice on which cake or brownie to choose. Staff are repeatedly described as friendly and knowledgeable, quick to serve, and glad to talk through how the coffee is made. The atmosphere is called cosy, chilled and friendly, and one reviewer notes the special coffees on offer. One reviewer recalls watching a customer being shown different options and given brew ratios and draw speed to judge whether her grind was right.

“Wow!! As a an adopted Melburnian and therefore qualified coffee snob (cue eye roll reader) this place is the best coffee in Derby that I have tasted to date, that’s not a compliment I throw around lightly. The coffee was great. But the thing that shone through was the fact that a lady buying coffee was shown different options, suggested brew ratios and yields and told about draw speed to judge whether the grind of her coffee was correct.”

“After a dreadful 12 months of illness and hospitalisation its great to be back in circulation. And my first place to revisit is my go to artisanal coffee place in my village. A great welcome from co-owner Alex; thanks 😊 - Great coffee and yummy cake 🎂”

“Consistently good coffee served up by proper sound people! Staff are really knowledgable - was having a nice chat with Olly and Alex yesterday morning about the coffee making process. Lovely baked goods on offer as well!”
