About Imperial Dragon
Imperial Dragon is a Chinese takeaway in Derby, based at 2A Shardlow Rd. Its menu puts individual snack boxes next to sweet and sour chicken balls, so there is a box for one person alongside the chicken dish. Noodles are also available, and the kitchen trades in the evenings only. The shop is closed on Tuesdays, which leaves the other six days of the week for evening orders. Anyone planning a meal from this takeaway can count on that pattern from Monday through Sunday, apart from the Tuesday closure.

Customer Review Summary
Reviews of this Derby takeaway split sharply over the food. Satisfied diners praise individual snack boxes as delicious and plentiful, call the food lovely, and say it is their go-to Chinese takeaway, with one saying delivery arrived much quicker than the site estimated. Others report the opposite. The sweet and sour chicken is the most specific complaint, described by a long-time customer as extremely thick and stodgy inside the balls and tasting different, as if there were a new cook. Another reviewer describes dried up chips and poorly cooked mains after earlier orders had been good, and a third calls the food burnt and tasteless. Delivery draws criticism too. One Uber Eats customer phoned after the estimated window and was told the order had not been started because of a lack of drivers, and another says the driver left the food on top of a bin. One happy customer notes the kitchen removed the bean sprouts from their noodles on request.

“I have had sweet-and-sour chicken from the time this takeaway has opened. But tonight it fell short on it taste and the way it was made. It was extremely thick and stodgy within the balls and it just tasted so different. To the point, I only ate two balls and could not eat no more. Such a shame. Maybe there is a new cook in the house 🤷🤷”

“Ordered from here when was visiting friends. Swapped from our normal go to dishes and opted for individual snack boxes. All were delicious and plentiful. Great value for money.”

“Why why why. I use you on a regular basis. I even have my normal delivery in saved settings. So why do you think you can send me dried up chips, poorly cooked mains. Previous takeaways, have been great, that's why we reorder. Our last meal was just ok, but because of your other deliveries, we gave you the benefit of the doubt. But today has done it for us, ....Thanks last order completed”
