Customer Review Summary
Chilli beef is the dish reviewers name most, a favourite for one regular who calls the food consistent over years, though another found the shredded version only okay. Close behind come the chicken omelette with peas and chips, duck pancake rolls, plum duck and Singapore curries, with chow mein liked by a family whose children also enjoy plain noodles. Friendly staff, quick arrival and food that stays hot recur in the praise. The criticism is just as pointed. Several say quality has slipped, describing tough, chewy curry chicken, dry rice and dishes that taste reheated or made the day before. A seven year regular reports three bad meals in a row, and another found chicken chow mein in a weird liquid with onion in a dish ordered without. One reviewer reports their wife was sick all night after a meal and suspected food poisoning. Orders do come with free prawn crackers and fortune cookies.

“Been a regular for probably 7 years but noticed the last year that the food has gone down hill, it's tough and chewy like it's been cooked then reheated or it's been kept on a hot plate for a long time, almost inedible with stomach ache soon after eating, it's a real shame because it was honestly one of the best Chinese in Derby. We won't be returning as we have had consistently bad meals the last 3 times we have ordered. Not sure what the reason is behind this but I noticed a few similar comments in the reviews. I hope they get it sorted soon and get back on track.”

“Egg fried rice was fine but a bit bland, shredded chilli beef was okay but chicken chow mein was in a weird liquid with really thin noodles. Ordered all without onion but found onion in one dish. Probably wouldn’t order again unless other Chineses were closed.”

“TThe cuisine is truly exceptional, boasting impeccable quality. The portion sizes are equally satisfying. Highly recommend”

“I would never normally leave a review, but £10.50 for salt and pepper chicken, with Sweet and sour sauce? With collection? And a portion size that big? Seriously? The food wasn’t awful, probably about average, but the price😲 Do they coat the chicken in Gold? - Photo attached.”
