What reviewers say
Reviewers most often mention onion bhajis, peshwari naan, garlic chilli chicken and jalfrezi.
Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often praise the flavour of the food, singling out the onion bhajis as large, chunky and not greasy. The peshwari naan, crisp popadoms and garlic chilli chicken come close behind. Several diners describe the staff as friendly, and one mentions clean toilets. Small complaints include a jalfrezi that was a little runny and not spicy enough, and chops that were overcooked and tough despite a rich marinade. A few reviews are much harsher. One diner found every dish bland and tasting the same, with visibly dirty cutlery and plates. Another, ordering delivery, describes dry, clumped pilau rice, tough chicken and a cheesy garlic naan topped with plastic-tasting burger cheese, all seemingly made long before the order. One reviewer reports symptoms of food poisoning hours after a takeaway. Others say deliveries arrive on time, and one describes massive portions that were piping hot and fresh.

“Ordered via just eat. Eaten here previously and it had always been nice and fresh. However, i will not be eating there ever again! Food was delivered 15mins from ordering…alarm bells already ringing. It’s a 10min drive away too. The pilau rice was all stuck together and was dry, like it had been sat there for a long time. Curry taste was nice but the chicken was tough and dry….again like it had been made a while back. Also ordered a cheesy garlic naan….surely this couldn’t be bad right? Well think again…. It was a standard garlic naan and the cheese was the plastic cheese that you put on a burgers! And again, this too had been made a long time prior to ordering. I dont know if the place had change owners or maybe they have changed their ways of operating but unfortunately i will not be going here ever again and I certainly will not be recommending it to any friends/family. Awful”

“Lovely food as always, staff are always friendly and attentive. Great value for money and always a nice evening. Get our takeaways from here too!”

“I was really hoping for an authentic meal, but unfortunately, this was a massive letdown. The food was incredibly bland and lacked any real spice or seasoning. While the dishes were bright with food colouring and just loaded with chunky vegetables to make it look like a lot, no "flavour" to be found in every single dish we ordered, they all tasted exactly the same. Beyond the food, the hygiene was a major concern. The cutlery and plates were visibly dirty, which immediately put us off our meal. While the staff are polite enough and quick to say "yes sir," the actual quality of what they serve is unacceptable. If you’re looking for a flavourful, clean Indian dining experience in Darlington, I would suggest looking elsewhere. Not recommended. Finally, the most likely response from the owner will be that I give out bad reviews, but there is nothing wrong with being a critique, and expecting good quality dining given the prices charged, and we all need real world reviews.”

“This is the first Indian restaurant I’ve found since moving up from Kent, a year ago, that actually tastes authentic. Amazing food, with lovely flavour. Keeping in mind that I am picky and have dined religiously at 5 star restaurants in London, I can say it’s good quality. The inside is more of a cosy & casual environment, so perfect to visit even for just a quick meal. Additionally, the staff here are well-mannered and friendly, especially the younger man that engaged in a conversation with us! Thankyou.”

“I have eaten in the restaurant a couple of times in the past and have found it to be decent. However, I have very recently had a takeaway and hours after consuming became very ill with clear symptoms of food poisoning. I will not be eating in or ordering takeaway from here again”
