About Waddon Cafe
Waddon Cafe is a cafe on Purley Way in Croydon, open for walk-ins with no booking needed. The breakfast menu runs to a numbered "number two" served with fried bread, alongside scrambled egg on toast and a sausage and bacon French stick. Lattes and smoothies cover the drinks side, and the kitchen also turns out cheeseburgers with onions, offered as part of a meal deal with chips, plus a chicken curry that has appeared as a special. The cafe opens Monday to Saturday during the day and closes on Sundays. A step-free entrance suits visitors with mobility needs, and high chairs are on hand for families with young children. Food comes out hot to the table, and the counter takes orders on arrival rather than by reservation.

Customer Review Summary
Breakfast is the main draw at Waddon Cafe, and the number two with its fried bread is the plate one regular returns for, calling the portions already big. Close behind are the burgers, where reviewers praise the onions in the cheeseburgers and a meal deal with a tasty, filling burger and crispy chips. Others mention scrambled egg on toast, a sausage and bacon French stick, real bacon, and a chicken curry special with fresh salad, and a few single out the lattes and the smoothies added to the menu. Reviewers describe polite, friendly, attentive staff, food served hot and quickly, and a place that feels clean, fresh, warm and calm. Several say they have been coming for years or visit regularly, and some bring friends who then return with others. Good for children and adults is one note. The one criticism comes from a first-time visitor who found it somewhat pricey compared with similar places, though another reviewer calls it well priced. One regular says the owner keeps offering extra food and gets turned down because the portions are already big.

“Popped in whilst my car was having some work done locally, 1st time I'd visited. Cannot fault the food which was served quickly, hot and it was a really nice breakfast. Staff were polite and welcoming. The only criticism I have was I felt it was somewhat pricey compared to similar places I've eaten in.”

“Stumbled upon this little gem café almost 3 years ago . I have to drive in cause I’m not from the area cause my area which is still in Croydon have no good cafés at all. I always have a number two which is absolutely beautiful breakfast cause I love the fried bread it comes with I’ve also taken my friends and most of them come back with other friends to this café. The owner and the staff are very attentive & as I’m deemed regular now the owner always tries to add extra food but I always tell him no because the portions for the food is already big but yeah - great great café great service great food.”
