Customer Review Summary
The breakfast draws the sharpest criticism. Several diners call the food bland, including a full English that one said was not great, and one reviewer who paid nearly forty pounds for two breakfasts was let down despite friendly service. Another found the veggie sausage grainy and flavourless. One reviewer describes an astonishingly long wait for a Scottish Breakfast that arrived after the coffee had gone cold, and a parent reports having to fetch their own cutlery and condiments while staff stood talking, and that the food arrived piping hot.

“Astonishingly long wait for Scottish Breakfast, compared with breakfast in any other cafe, ever. Perhaps 3 waiting / shop serving staff could have been reallocated to assist 1 cook! On a hot afternoon, I allowed my coffee to get cold and drunk it before breakfast appeared at 15.10. Maybe it was delayed on train from Edinburgh to King's Cross.”

“This has become my regular coffee shop when I’m in Addiscombe. The coffee is great, the salads are home made (and are DELICIOUS!!) - usually out on display for order from 11:30. Most (if not all?) of the food is made on-premises. It’s all very reasonably priced and much better than anything you’ll find in a chain coffee shop. Try it, please!! The staff are SUPER friendly, and it’s a family run business - you really get to know them, and they look after their customers. They’re kind people, and really deserve to do fantastically well here. The vibe is friendly, chilled out, very relaxed, and is an ideal place to catch up with friends, read a book, or just sit and be peaceful. Thank you SO much for everything you do for your customers and the local community - we really appreciate you!”
