Reviewers most often praise the food, from a Thursday pizza and drink deal with a prawn topping to chicken goujons with sweet potato fries, sea bass and a hamburger, with several citing value for money. Friendly staff and well-kept real ale also come up. The main complaint is volume: one regular group says the music is so loud they can't hear each other and leave.

“Came in on a Wednesday, the atmosphere was very warm and welcoming, it’s so nice to see people of all different ages and backgrounds all enjoying themselves together, the real ale was spot on too, will be back soon”

“Lot's of us meet there regularly as so convenient to us all but unfortunately we end up leaving as we can't hear each other, it's far too loud, more like a nightclub than a town centre pub for locals to meet. I think loud music is fine at night but late afternoon early evening when people want to catch up and chat, it's silly. Otherwise it would be great, nice, attentive staff, clean, food fine and quite tasty. TURN IT DOWN!!”

“I tried the Thursday Pizza and Drink deal at The Pembroke yesterday lunchtime and I can definitely recommend it. It was cooked well and a good size with a generous amount of topping (I had the one with prawns - it was delicious), nicely presented, great value, with a good choice of drinks to go with it and served with a smile. Thanks we will definitely be back.”

“We stumbled on this pub after we decided to take a walk and ended up in Coulsdon. Lovely welcoming staff and really nice food with value for money, i had the chicken goujons with sweet potato fries and my husband had the sea bass. We'll definitely come again 😊”
