Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often praise the roast dinners, with the Sunday roast singled out, and the homemade steak and ale pie served with a pint of Bass and followed by apple crumble. Friendly staff and a good beer and ale selection come up repeatedly, along with reasonable prices. One diner found the four cheese pie's pastry raw, and one bingo night left a visitor feeling unwelcome.

“Friendly staff. Food not so good. Four cheese pie, pastry was raw, looked like lasagne sheets and topped with a slice of garlic bread. Wouldn't recommend.this dish.”

“Very nice roast dinner (and probably the last one of the day). Generous in plates, smiles and service. We will come again for sure.”

“In the category of classic cozy pubs serving great pub food, fantastic drinks, and with lovely friendly service, this is perfect. We stopped by for a drink in the afternoon and after a warm welcome from the landlord who showed us the food menu, we went back for dinner. A few friendly locals, lovely atmosphere and amazing homemade steak & ale pie to go with a pint of Bass, and apple crumble for dessert. And great value.”

“I didn't eat here, I just turned up for a bingo night, which was a total shambles, most of the tables are reserved, it's extremely rowdy and very clicky, myself and my friends felt like outsiders and we were dictated where to sit by a bolshie woman, possibly the landlady? We won't be returning to this establishment, we were all out of our comfort zones and didn't feel welcome.”
