  “We have visited Peck’s many times over the years, in fact I can honestly say it was one of my favourite places to go. This was our first visit since its move to Congleton town centre. We have always enjoyed the relaxed experience, however on this occasion we were sadly disappointed. My husband and I had mentioned to our friends how much we had enjoyed our previous visits. Sadly, this visit was anything but relaxed. The Six of us arrived at 7:05 for an 8:00 dinner and decided to include the drinks pairing option. The appitizers arrived around 8:00, but then we had to wait for our starters which did not arrive until 9:01, we also had to ask for the accompanying pairing wine, which then arrived after most of us had finished our first course. This continued throughout the evening, with drinks regularly arriving too late to actually pair with the food. Our main course arrived around 10:10 followed by our desserts at 10:50. The dessert wine did not arrive until 11:10, by which time we had eaten the desserts, so we sent them back. We just about managed to get through the cheese course. After over four hours in the restaurant we eventually had to leave without having our coffee as we had booked a taxi which we had already put back by half an hour. To make matters worse, when our bill arrived we discovered we had been charged for 12 meals instead of six, an error of £360. There was no real apology. Most of the food was fantastic, however some of it had dried up after sitting on the side for too long. The young staff were clearly trying their best but the service and organisation fell far below what we remembered and expected of Peck’s. Sadly, it simply was a very disappointment experience and we won’t be rushing back anytime soon.”

  “Where has fine dining gone. Overloaded plates, dry food...awful meal, pre sliced, reheated meat. You should be happy we paid. Never again.”
