About Ho King - Peking and Cantonese Takeaway

Ho King - Peking and Cantonese Takeaway is a Chinese takeaway on Windsor Street in Colne, serving Peking and Cantonese dishes through collection and delivery orders. The menu spans both regional styles, with a focus on prepared meals and takeaway staples suited to eating at home. Among the offerings, Peking-style dishes and Cantonese favorites sit alongside combination platters and noodle options, giving customers a broad choice across the two culinary traditions. Orders are placed for pickup or delivery, fitting the takeaway format and the street-level setting. Customer Review Summary

Ho King draws mixed and sharply divided reactions, with the salt and pepper dishes and chow mein standing out as the most frequently praised items among regulars. One long-time diner calls the chilli and garlic crispy special the best in Colne and says the salt and pepper chips are full of flavour without unwanted onions, while another singles out the salt and pepper dishes and chow mein as must-haves. On the negative side, multiple reviewers describe serious problems with orders and value: one says they were told an hour and fifteen minutes but waited two hours for a pickup, another reports being quoted one price and charged an extra tenner on collection, and a third calls the chips horrible and tasting of fish. Complaints about food quality include a brown, overdone special fried rice with hard chunks of pork, overdone prawns, and burnt chips, as well as bland curry sauce and house special fried rice that one reviewer describes as stale. One customer notes the cash-only policy as an inconvenience, and another mentions rubbish on the back lane behind the shop.

Horrible chips, worse chips I have had Could taste fish and asked for a chip butty. Didn’t even know wat a chip buttie was , and no tomato sauce plus cash only which is very strange

Told 1 hour 15 minutes, took 2 hours and had to pick it up. Also told wrong price when originally ordered. Added a tenner on at the end.

£5:70 for a portion of chips with gravy. I walked out when I heard the price. Much better Chinese around the corner. Lotus go there instead better price and authentic Chinese working there

Food is good here well I've only ate once from here but it was really good. Shame there's a lot of rubbish on the back lane behind this takeaway.
