Quick info
About Sir Isaac's Artisan Coffee
Sir Isaac's Artisan Coffee is a coffee shop at 43 Sir Isaac's Walk in Colchester that sells its own roasted coffee beans. The beans include a decaf, and the team grinds them on request, so customers can take home coffee prepared for their own brewing method. At the counter, drinks such as the flat white sit alongside baked goods, with stuffed cookies and brownies, including a biscoff version, sold next to the coffee. Coffee-related products are also on sale. The space is small, with seating for around four to five couples.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the coffee, with Americanos and flat whites named as highlights, and a few mention buying the shop's own roasted beans, including decaf, to take home. Brownies come close behind, with the biscoff and salted caramel versions praised alongside stuffed cookies, a lovely iced mocha and a very chocolatey hot chocolate. Staff are repeatedly described as friendly, chatty and knowledgeable, and one reviewer who met the owner found him really nice. One reviewer notes the space is small and suits takeaway, though it seats a handful of couples. Criticism is limited but specific: one reviewer found the pastry selection very small and the coffee a little overpriced, while another received a rancid coconut milk coffee and, on taking it back, was told staff thought coconut milk did not go off, and said they would not return soon. Another reviewer called the coffee well priced.

“A lovely coffee if a little overpriced, and sadly a very small collection of pastries but overall a nice atmosphere to sit and enjoy the coffee :)”

“Had a rancid coffee made with coconut milk, took it back and was told that they thought coconut milk didn't go off!!! Absolutely mind boggling! Hope you can invest in better staff training for future employees.. Won't be back any time soon.”

“These guys provided their coffees at the Langham Classic Vehicle Show. I sampled a couple of Americanos both of which were excellent. I spoke with the owner who was a really nice guy and very friendly. There was a younger lad serving who was both polite and friendly. The coffee was very well priced and greatly appreciated by me. I hope that they will be back next year. I certainly wouldn’t hesitate to visit the cafe in town too,”

“When it comes to coffee I have my standards pretty high. Glad to say the coffee was very good. But what really surprised me is that they sell their own roasted coffee beans.”
