Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often praise quick, friendly service, with food ordered on the Wetherspoon app reaching the table within minutes even when the pub is very busy and loud. Staff are described as friendly, helpful and pleasant, and a few mention good value, with one calling it much cheaper than other pubs. Diners also note tidy, clean tables, plenty of seating, and a window spot overlooking the cathedral where a meal arrived promptly. One reviewer enjoyed wings on a first visit, while another found the Kahuna's passion fruit too overpowering and the Shipyard disappointing. The kitchen draws the sharpest complaints. One diner's all day brunch arrived tepid with eggshell in a fried egg. Another received a pizza with chicken they had not ordered and no dip, and was told the chicken had been removed and extra cheese added, which the reviewer felt ignored dietary needs. A burger came out black, and the replacement returned the same, with the kitchen reportedly saying it was too busy, though the chips and onion rings were decent.

“I went in with my wife for a bite to eat a few days ago. Food was good. Surprising for what you expect and pay for. Was very busy even for a mid week afternoon. Service was still exceptionally fast. I had ordered mine and my wife’s food on the Wetherspoon app and within five to six minutes. It was at our table. Very helpful young man who I had forgotten to get his name, tall, slim young man with a beard was very helpful and very friendly, made sure our food and drinks was very quickly delivered to us. Food was very good. Pub was very loud and very busy but our experience was still very positive.”

“Popped in for a quick bite to eat with the family. You don't expect nouvelle cuisine but after waiting approx 20 minutes for your food you would expect it to be hot or very warm.... not this time, ordered the all day brunch, it arrived tepid at best! Cold! With eggshell in the one of the fried (cold) eggs. Shame the front of house service is always friendly and helpful, shame the current kitchen staff fail miserably! Disappointing.”

“I’ve eaten at this Wetherspoons a couple of times before and never had an issue with the food, so this experience was a real surprise, not in a good way! I ordered a pizza with onions, chilli, and a side dip. My drink arrived with no problems, but then they brought me a pizza with onion, chilli and chicken, and no dip. I told the staff it couldn’t be mine because I hadn’t ordered chicken and my dip was missing. They asked me to show proof of my order, which I did. They then brought the missing dip, but what happened next was not acceptable. A member of the bar staff (didn’t catch the name) told me they had removed the chicken and added extra cheese to “take the chicken taste away.” I was shocked. I said, “Wait, what? I could be vegetarian.” He replied that there’s no way of specifying that on the app. That completely misses the point! I didn’t order chicken. The mistake was theirs, not mine. Whether someone is veggie, vegan, has specific dietary requirements, an allergy, or genuinely doesn’t want chicken on their food, it is not okay to remove the topping and think that’s an acceptable fix. To make matters worse, it felt like getting them to make a fresh pizza was a chore, even though the mistake was theirs. This was handled very poorly. Vegetarians and anyone with dietary requirements, be aware!!! Really not happy with this experience 😐”

“Brilliant service here. Loved the trip to Chichester with a wetherspoons bite at the end of a day's walking. Enjoyable atmosphere then a 10 min walk back to the station.”

“This Spoons is my usual go-to for something quick, easy, & tasty. During my most recent visit, the staff were particularly friendly, & the team leader on shift called Seb was extremely helpful & delivered kind & efficient customer service. Thank you, Seb & the team for a lovely Spoons experience!”
