“I was recently Married and had our reception at Bobbys bar. Before I get onto my main criticisms i would like to praise the bar girls, bouncer and DJ. They were all very friendly and worked incredibly hard throughout the evening. They all took time to congratulate me and my wife on our wedding day. I cannot say a negative word about them. Now unfortunately there were a couple of things i was very unhappy with. I would like to move onto the event organiser. I got the impression they could hardly care less about our experience. I was never allowed to meet up with them face to face, even after requesting this. Everything was over the phone where things cant always be discussed in detail. How can we get a true idea of catering over the phone or through messaging. Even then getting into contact with them was hard work. Even when I was waiting at the bar to put some money behind for drinks, they had no idea who i was. On the day of the event, they were there very briefly at the start and then all of a sudden, they disappeared. They didn't think to find me to congratulate us and ask if everything was going ok. They already got our money i guess, so why should they care. Now onto the catering. We asked the catering to be for 70 people. There was absolutely no way on earth that was for 70 people. Before the party started we were outside for around 30 minutes to do a photoshoot. By the time me and my wife entered the hall again after the photos, everything except for some sausage rolls and salad was all gone. Luckily we brought some doughnuts with us from asda so I had something to eat thankfully. The Food should have been wrapped up until we were ready to start serving to guests. But even that doesn't solve the problem of inadequate portions. Again because we couldn't communicate our desired plans properly with the organiser these poor decisions are going to happen. A bride and groom not being able to eat at there own party is embarrassing and shameful on the host. My Auntie who attended is a professional caterer and she was appalled by the catering and just general organisation of things. The 3 stars are for bar staff, dj and bouncer. Sadly Everything else was a shambles.”
