About Red Brick Cafe
Set on the Robinson College campus behind the university library, Red Brick Cafe is a cafe and bar on Grange Road in Cambridge that is open to the public, not just to students, staff and the college's visiting family and friends. Coffee and hot drinks are a mainstay, and plenty of people stop in for nothing more than that. At lunchtime the kitchen turns out light food, including hot paninis. Customers order at the counter rather than waiting for table service, and the cafe runs on a walk-in basis. It opens daily.

“Nice college cafe with a good vibe. One of the few places in Cambridge that you can get a coffee during the evening.”

“Very very poor service. I have been here many times and staff are always abrupt and passive aggressive. Multiple times I have been standing waiting to order a drink for a good few minutes while they have a chat in the corner either unaware they have a customer or simply ignoring.”

“Excellent service and quality of food. However, this is NOT for the general public - just students of Robinson College, UC - and visiting family and friends.”

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers describe a college cafe and bar on the Robinson College campus, and coffee is the most common draw. One calls it a perfectly good place for a cuppa, and another notes it is one of the few places in Cambridge serving coffee in the evening. A hot panini also gets a mention, and several praise polite, friendly staff, a clean space and exceptional value for money. A visitor to a charity fundraising event found the food great. A few stress that although it is open to the public, it is really for students, staff and college visitors, and one says it is not for the general public. Service draws the sharpest complaint. One regular reports abrupt, passive aggressive staff and repeatedly waiting to order a drink while employees chatted in the corner. Another diner found no gluten-free mains at lunch. One visitor came in after the Darwin exhibition at the university library and found the cafe a welcome break from the rain.
