About The Castle Bar
The Castle Bar is a bar in Cambridge at 37 St Andrew's St, with rooms upstairs for overnight stays, so guests can book a bed in the same building as the dancefloor. A DJ plays music for dancing, and the food menu includes a wings plate. Door staff manage entry at the entrance, where payment is taken to get in and a one-in, one-out policy applies. The dancefloor and DJ are part of a late format that runs on only a limited schedule. Seats by the windows open onto the sidewalk.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often return to the music and nightlife, with a DJ who played funk and had the bar staff jumping onto the dancefloor when Cameo dropped. Close behind is the staff, described repeatedly as friendly, with the door team singled out as alert and calm. Several call the atmosphere good or incredible, and one likes the seats with windows that open to the sidewalk. Food earns praise too, especially a huge wings plate. Other complaints are mostly about the Saturday night experience. One reviewer mentions a one in, one out queue, pricey drinks and a cold welcome from the person taking entry payment. Another found the music too old fashioned, and one says it is not really set up for dancing. The sharpest criticism comes from a fry up visit. A latte was made wrong, both coffees arrived cold, and meals came out at different times after a long wait in an empty room. Flat plates sent two sausages and a portion of beans onto the floor. Even so, the reviewer called the waiter nice and the place clean.

“Me and my cousin stayed here Saturday night we went to afew pubs in town then came back here to finish out night. This was by far the best place in town we went all night the music, the atmosphere, the bar staff was so good. We really enjoyed ourselves. I would like to make a massive mention to the door men they were so alert and handled situations with calmness and respect. A special thank you goes to John the door man we had a issue with 2 elder men that would not leave us alone for the last couple hours of the night John noticed this and we spoke to him as we felt uncomfortable. John assured us he would keep his eye on them and he did as soon as they came near John was there moving us safely and discreetly away fro them. But this got to much and the pub was closing soon so we decided to just go up and to our room, John escorted us up the stairs to make sure we got there safely and the men did not follow us. So I would like to say a big thank you to you John as I was feeling anxious about this and you made me feel safe. I would recommend this pub for a good night out and stay in a room upstairs so convenient and such a nice place with lovely staff”
