About Cambridge Tap
Cambridge Tap is a pub on St Andrew's Street serving small plates and mains alongside daytime and evening drinking. The kitchen covers smashed spuds, other small plates, and larger mains, with vegetarian options available across the menu. Cocktails and a wide range of drinks run alongside the food. Dogs are welcome in the space. Service runs promptly even when the room is busy, and the interior is air conditioned. Music volume rises at times, which can make conversation difficult on busier nights. The pub takes walk-ins throughout the day and evening.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often praise the friendly staff, who made one group feel welcome with their two dogs, handled gluten free and other dietary needs with a clear allergen list, and helped with a partner's intolerances. Burgers come with vegetarian versions, and close behind are the cocktails, small plates, smashed spuds and frickles, the battered fried gherkins one diner swapped in for mushy peas and loved. Groups and events get good words too: one party booked a large meal that arrived on time, and another hired the upstairs for a meetup, with quick bar service. The recurring complaint is noise. Several say the music gets loud enough that conversation becomes a shout, and one reviewer disliked a convicted sex trafficker's image being shown on screen. Food speed draws mixed comments: one table waited nearly an hour longer than their friends and had to ask, while others call it quick. One reviewer found the drinks list a bit safe. Another noted that the group meal had gone slightly less crunchy but was still warm.

“Not very busy when I visited. Ordered, and a bit of a wait for the food. Nice place”

“Just had a drink, but fast service, good air con as was absolutely scorching outside. Nice atmosphere”

“Really good value for money and such a lovely team. Shout out to Jess, Kyron and Amber who were so welcoming and looked after us so well. Good mix of food on the menu and catered to vegetarians. Would recommend the smashed spuds! The service was prompt considering how busy they are! Definitely worth a pitt stop.”

“Was at an event to meet people hosted by this place. What does this venue do? Crank up the music so we have to shout at eachother. Complete vibe killer and really misunderstood what it means to have a social environment. Bars these days seem to think if you're talking that's a bad thing - it's not and I wish they'd stop trying to turn things unnecessarily into discos constantly just for the sake of selling a few more drinks. Will think twice before coming back here.”

“Always my place to go; for daytime/evening drinking. Also do tasty food, small plates or mains. Staff always friendly and happy, greats range of drinks/food, love the cocktails! Only downfall is, certain time the music volume goes up a lot louder which sometimes is annoying as can’t have a proper convo as can’t hear the people talking. But still highly recommend - great atmosphere and clean place!”

“Once a bank, now made brilliant - welcome to the Cambridge Tap! We love a really good burger – and ours are unique, tender and fresh, served in an all butter brioche bun and perfected by us for you! Dirty fries, wings, small plates and sharers this is the perfect menu for any social gathering. Our cocktails are handmade to order and available throughout the week, along with a great range of wines, world and craft beers and a wide selection of spirits. The team are looking forward to seeing you soon.”
