Customer Review Summary

Home cooked food in big portions is what reviewers return to most, and the steak and ale suet pie is the standout, with one guest calling it to die for and another asking that the pies stay on the menu. Close behind are the Sunday roast dinners, the chilli, salt and pepper chicken served with a side of katsu curry, and a Bombay burger with chips one reviewer called perfect. Several describe the food as pretty much homemade, with a good range of specials. The landlord, landlady and staff come up repeatedly as friendly and welcoming, and reviewers mention a real village pub atmosphere, good outside seating and a good place to watch sports. One reviewer visiting for the first time since the change of owner was happy with the food and service. One regular reports going four times in three weeks, and another says a jacket potato arrived bigger than the nephew's head.

“Foods decent so is the aesthetic of the pub. But the reason I rate it one star is because on Wednesday 7/10/26 They had the pub labeled as “closed” to hide from a traveller funeral going on in the cemetery which is illegal especially when you got people eating and still being served inside the establishment with the blinds closed, I still had food there though even though I shouldn’t of.”

“Excellent village pub with a great atmosphere. Landlord and lady are always nice and friendly and Leah is fantastic. Roast dinners are 10/10, second only to my mum's 😅 Me and my friend attend most Sundays and will attend as usual. Highly recommend!”

“The staff are lovely, especially Leah. Friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and polite. The food is delicious with generous portions at very good prices! I enjoyed the salt n pepper chicken which comes with a side serving of Katsu curry! A little heat and lots of flavour! My nephew had a jacket potato that was so large it was bigger than his head 😄 Will definitely be going back 😁👍”
