Customer Review Summary
Reviews split sharply on delivery and food quality. The crispy beef and a special chow mein draw the praise from happier diners, who also describe online ordering as simple, a delivery arriving to the minute, generous portions, and a delivery lady who gave a bottle of wine at New Year. Complaints are just as concrete and recur more often. Several report long delivery waits, one over two hours and another about an hour and twenty minutes, and a reviewer was told "If you don't like it come and pick it up." Greasy, funky-tasting chow mein appears in two reviews, along with soggy prawn balls, watery sweet and sour sauce, pale duck in plum sauce, and tough crispy squid. One reviewer describes a delivery driver who opened the front door himself, and another says a larger portion of chicken batter balls, paid for by phone, arrived as the standard size with the wrong sauce. One diner reports feeling ill after a meal. A replacement chow mein for a missing collection order arrived quickly.

“We placed an order from Lucky Boat Chinese in Calne on June 14th, 2025. While the food was excellent, I was quite concerned about the behavior of the delivery driver. As I was coming downstairs to answer the door, the driver knocked very aggressively several times. When I opened my porch door, he proceeded to open my front door himself. I politely asked him not to do that, to which he responded, "Well, I'm busy." So overall not very pleased.”

“Ordered to collect the chow mein was missing where we got home. They delivered a replacement fast enough but tasted old and greasy it had a really funky twang. The food overall wasn't good either and the duck in plum sauce always anemic and pale beige even the sauce was beige. People of calne must have strong stomachs because it's gone straight through me. Won't be returning”

“Just moved Calne and decided to order a Chinese, it came within 30 mins, food is very well portioned, tastes amazing, lovely delivery lady and even gave some wine as its New years so I had to come on here and express my appreciation to you guys. It was an amazing experience and will definitely return!!!”

“Waited over 2 hours for delivery. When the food arrived I wasn’t impressed at all. The prawn curry wasn’t even a curry it tasted like a congealed gravy which has been on the side for two weeks to go along with the two tons of onion with the dish and the 4 prawns. Also the prawns balls the batter was soggy and the prawns was so tiny so basically tasted like a soggy slop also the sweet and sour sauce was watery. The chow main was greasy which left a nasty taste on each bite. The egg fried rice tasted funky and old. Overall not worth the money or the wait. We have order from here many times never really a issue. Tonight will be my last time.”

“Placed an order for chicken batter balls standard size portion with curry sauce & pancake rolls, then amended order over the phone to larger potion 13 balls & paid extra. Arrived with standard size potion & sweet & sour sauce! Not ever ordering online from them again as ruined my treat for my friends. & I paid extra for extra balls. Lady I spoke to was lovely & no blame on her shoulders at all.”
