  “Had a fantastic meal from jade House, delivery took about an hour but was warned of that by the staff who took our order, and was expected with the road works in town. Food arrived hot and fresh and all meals were very tasty. I had the Singapore rice noodles and another person in my household had the mushroom omelette with chips. Huge portions, chips were crispy and tasty and both meals were very nice. Have had issues with Jade House in the past but tonight's meal was fantastic, no complaints 😊”

  “Ordered food specifically asked for no seafood yet again came with king prawns this is now the second time this has happened, called this evening to a very rude member of staff . Telling me to phone with the order if I have special requests as they have no control over the online order system. Very disappointed. If you have requirements best not to order”

  “Took a chance and ordered a takeaway from Jade House. Positives: • The portion sizes are massive. Ordered the set meal for one and you get enough food for two. • The delivery was within their predicted timeframe. • Massive chicken balls and egg roll. • Free prawn crackers Negatives: • Order beef chop suey and ended up with beef with mushrooms - I don't mind beef with mushrooms, but it's not what I ordered. • Food was bland. I cook better egg fried rice myself. Beef was slimy in texture. Both dishes seemed to be missing taste Overall edible, but can't say much more about it than that. Will avoid in future.”

  “I had been a regular customer for a long time but in my most recent order, after a very long wait for delivery, my food was ice cold and when I called up to discuss the matter I found the customer service to be very unhelpful.”

  “This was my ‘go to’ as it had the best Singapore noodles but something’s changed recently. The food in general has become quite bland and the Singapore noodles, which are meant to be spicy with curry undertones, were so tasteless with gristly meat and no heat whatsoever, i may as well have had some plain noodles ! I will be looking for a new Chinese takeaway. So disappointing.”

  “Calne’s takeaway options seem to be declining in quality. Jade House used to be one of the better choices, and we ordered from them many times without issues. However, the last two orders gave me severe food poisoning. At first, I wasn’t entirely sure, but now it’s clear. The food tastes stale, as if it’s been frozen for a long time. Even the chips seem like they were cooked days ago and just reheated. The rice has an old, musty taste, like it’s been sitting for 3–4 days. The curries are bland and weak, and I felt unwell after eating. I recommend avoiding this place—try somewhere else or cook at home. I definitely won’t be ordering from here again.”

  “I have used this Chinese for some time and order probably once a fortnight. Ordered on Friday evening and had an awful meal. Chips looked and tasted like they were old chips from a previous session and reheated, so dry they were inedible. The sweet and sour chicken balls had nice batter but the chicken inside was hard and had an off taste, again I didn’t eat them. The meal cost £24.50 and felt thoroughly ripped off. Not sure if the business has changed hands but we sadly won’t be returning in a hurry…”

  “First time we have purchased Chinese food from this takeaway and very pleasantly surprised. We had Chicken Chow Mein and Sweet and Sour Chicken Balls. Both dishes were very nice especially the chicken balls which were made with proper breast meat. Highly recommended although sadly like most food these days a wee bit expensive.”

  “Partner thought he'd try here as Wong's house (on the same street) have increased there prices slightly. Jade's house was marginally cheaper but significantly worse in quality. Ordered 1/4 crispy duck... Sauce was nice, plenty of disappointingly flavourless salad provided (in plastic tub, not foil, sadly), but most notably he had two massive bones in with his meat - a quarter of his 1/4 crispy duck was bone! Photos added. The meat itself was reportedly fatty and greasy. Very limited vegetarian range, very limited on street parking available. Seems like a popular local option for its delivery service. Sadly for Jade's House, my partner will be staying loyal to his previous duck provider. Truth be told, the dog didn't even want the duck 😬😳”
