Quick info
About TCB Bury
TCB Bury is a Chinese restaurant at 5 The Rock in Bury, serving an all-you-can-eat buffet where small robots carry trays of dishes to the table instead of guests helping themselves. Orders go in through an app or a QR code scanned at the table, and the team explains how to use it. Dishes arrive as small pots or portions, so each round can include as many as the table wants. The menu runs from duck pancakes and salt and pepper chicken to rice, noodles and curries, with banana fritter among the desserts. The restaurant opens daily for lunch and dinner. Staff mention the charge for wasted food at the start of the meal.

Customer Review Summary
Most reviewers come for the robot service, where small pots of food arrive at the table after being ordered through an app, and the duck pancakes get singled out as one reviewer's favourite. Close behind are the prawns with their sauces, salt and pepper chicken, sweet and sour chicken, and spring rolls, with several describing the food as fresh and hot. Staff are repeatedly called friendly, with one family noting the team explained the app and a charge for wasted dishes. Children are said to enjoy the robots, and one parent mentions chicken nuggets, chips and onion rings keeping a fussy eater happy. The caveat is flavour and value. One diner found the chicken and sweetcorn soup flavourless and the salt and pepper ribs overcooked and dry, with king prawns still in their shells, while others call the food bland or want better quality for the price. One family visits once a year as a birthday treat, and a diner who rated it poorly still said the servers and robots were great, and that the profiteroles and waffle were nice.

“The robot service at TCB Bury is next level — smooth, quick, and no mistakes. But the food is what keeps you coming back. Proper Chinese classics done really well: crispy, flavourful, and generous portions. Everything came out fresh and hot. If you’re in Bury and want great Chinese with a futuristic twist, this is the place.”

“Honestly a great experience especially with my kids but the food could do with being slightly better, I understand it's buffet style with a twist but I want better quality for the price 👍 fantastic idea with the robots makes the whole thing fun ☺️.”

“Agree with others food is bland, novelty are the robots, staff are friendly. It's expensive for what it is. We go once a year as a birthday treat for one of our kids, other than that we wouldn't go.”

“We've been previously before the fire & I can honestly say the food and service is much, much better. Once you get the table service, it makes way more sense, preventing food waste & having a good choice of different tasty dishes. You just scan the QR code they give you & order everything at the table. I wasn't sure at first, but I actually preferred it. Everything was great (especially the prawns and yum sauces) and the staff were lovely. We'll definitely be back!”

“You get what you pay for and at the Chinese buffet for that you get the best and freshest Chinese food around! Since Covid the food now comes in small portions delivered directly to your table via robot vs sitting out in a buffet style in the past and since then the quality has just got better and better. I absolutely would recommend to anyone. You'll not be disappointed!”
