Quick info
About Lee's Fish & Chips
Lee's Fish & Chips is a Chinese takeaway in Bury, at 10-12 Argyle St, that serves traditional Chinese dishes alongside fish and chips. The kitchen prepares its chips by hand every morning, so the chip side of the menu starts from scratch each day. Customers order as walk-ins. The team also picks the ingredients by hand each week from its suppliers, which keeps the choice of produce in the business's own hands.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often praise the generous portions, with several noting there is plenty left over for later, and describe the food as fresh and hot. Specific favourites include salt n pepper chicken pieces, soft noodles, chicken fried rice, a meat pie, and beef in black bean sauce, which one diner says they have never tasted as nice anywhere. Staff come up repeatedly as friendly and polite, and one parent notes they offer their child a lolly during weekly visits. Several mention fast service and suggest phoning an order through, though parking on the residential street is described as hit and miss. The complaints are more serious. One reviewer reports a wait of over half an hour for fish and chips that were undercooked and greasy and left them feeling ill. Another found some chips still frozen and received a wrong order, which the staff apologised for with a bag of prawn crackers. A third says the chow mein was drowning in soy sauce that leaked out of the bag.

“I don't know the area at all but we decided to get fish and chips, as we were running late. The one we wanted to use was closed, so we thought we would try Lee's. Just wanted two portions of fish and chips, a very standard order. I had to wait over half an hour. The food sadly was undercooked and very greasy. It actually made me feel quite I'll. It's a chinese chippy. The staff were friendly and polite but the food was poor.”

“I Can't give it a 5* because its a takeaway. But nevertheless the food is absolutely on point. The chips could do with being cooked a little longer but that's my personal preference. Apart from that I highly recommend”
