Customer Review Summary

Ice cream draws the most praise, especially Knickerbocker Glories and sundaes made in front of customers, with around ten flavours to mix and match. Others single out a lemon cheesecake and bubble-gum double scoop in a chocolate waffle cone, and one reviewer calls the ice creams the best in the area. One dissenting reviewer found every flavour had a chemical taste and could not tell four apart. Close behind are the hot dishes, with cauliflower cheese described as home cooked, plus ham, egg and chips and cottage pie served quickly. Several call it dog and child friendly, with plenty of seating. Complaints centre on value and consistency: one breakfast had bland sausage and bacon, another reviewer questioned the bill for hash browns and a sausage sarnie, and a scone with clotted cream was called a bit overpriced. One reviewer describes the owner being stand offish and loud over a customer charging a phone, and some customers walked out. Reviewers note you order at the till, and one child's waffle cone came with sauces, toppings and a little flag at no extra cost.

“Such a shame, I witnessed a group of family members out for a drink and food and got treated terribly by the café owner. The argument heated up because the owner didn't take kindly to one of their group a young lad plugging in his phone to charge it not realising it wasnt for customer use and there were young kids about. The owner was very stand offish to an elderly gentleman in the group who was on his own at first and the owners voice got very loud over a customer charging his phone and thought it was going to come to blows at one point. It was not professional and some other customers including ourselves walked out at that point - they also left. It's such a shame as the food is good and the ladies serving behind the till were lovely. It tainted the afternoon and no doubt he will lose customers over it.”

“So great little cafe, dog friendly, nice coffee but I’m confused as hell as to the cost of my food being £29 quid for flat white, apple juice, child’s breakfast with xtra beans and Sausage(1 sausage), bacon and mushroom sarnie and 4 hash browns. I can only assume the hash browns were either £1.50-£2 each which is mad.”

“Service okay, but waitresses do not engage at all when bringing your meals, just stand without asking who's meal is who's which I found mildly rude. We had breakfast and initially looked OK, but was very bland, no taste to the sausage or bacon. It was below average, the bread was nice. No drink included for nearly £10. Plenty of seating, looks a bit like a canteen at counter and not very clear on how to get served if you're new to this cafe. Feels a bit dated but clean. A few outdoor seats and customers toilets.”

“Ice cream is out of this world, £4.65 for a Lemon Cheesecake and bubble-gum double scoop in a chocolate waffle cone. Service is fantastic and theres loads of places to sit. Worth the visit every time you’re heading to the beach”

“Ice cream doesn’t have much flavour, all have a chemical taste to them. We had 4 different flavours and you couldn’t tell the difference between them all.”
