About The Oak
The Oak is a gastropub on Widmore Road in Bromley with a food-focused back restaurant beyond the main pub room. The kitchen centres on Sunday roast dinners, with roast chicken served as either breast or leg and a mixed roast plate for those who want both. A bread and Guinness butter starter opens the menu. Beyond the Sunday menu, the pub opens as a brunch, lunch and cocktail bar, and pours draught non-alcoholic beer alongside the main bar list, with a wine list in support and Tia Maria coffee to finish. A garden sits outside for warmer days. The Oak runs as a walk-in, so guests order at the bar or take a table as it comes.

“Although a local pub I haven't been in it for 60 years! Tried their Sunday Roast today and happy to report an enjoyable experience. The bread and Guiness butter started was very good and we enjoyed our large roast dinners. We found the coffee a bit bitter but otherwise everything was fine. However, I would have liked the chairs to be a bit higher (or the table a bit lower)!”

“Had a really lovely roast here today. The food was so good, everything was cooked perfectly and the portions were really generous. The pub had a great atmosphere too, and the staff were lovely. Big credit to the chef — you could tell a lot of care went into the food. The roast was honestly one of the nicest I’ve had in a while. Will definitely be back! 👌”

“The roast chicken dinner was very disappointing. We ordered 2 chicken plates, one plate was served as a breast of chicken the other a leg which was grizzly and very little meat. A very small selection of desserts so I opted for a Tia Maria coffee. Big mistake, very watery, disgusting. The draught non alcoholic beer was very cloudy and tasty dodgy.”
