About Rubino Lounge
Rubino Lounge is a restaurant at 251-255 Church Rd in Redfield, Bristol, and part of the Loungers chain. Dogs are welcome and get their own refreshments, while board games and toys give families something to do at the table. The menu starts with breakfast, including an English breakfast and smashed avo, and moves to tapas-style plates like cheddar & sweetcorn fritters. Flatbread is on the menu too, and separate gluten-free and vegan menus cover those diets. Seating ranges from traditional tables to lounge-type chairs, so groups and solo visitors can pick the setup that suits them. Service happens at the bar, and the room has large open windows. The team also hosts regular events.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the service, with staff described as attentive, friendly and helpful, and one reviewer recalling a staff member following them into the street to return a forgotten bag. The food draws steady praise too: the English breakfast was called delicious and authentic, the smashed avo and bacon lovely, and the flatbread fantastic. At a launch night, diners enjoyed tapas including the cheddar and sweetcorn fritters and Korean king prawns, plus a baked cookie dough dessert with a salted caramel centre. Several mention the stylish interior, large open windows and a choice of table or lounge seating, and one notes dogs are allowed. Some were pleasantly surprised the food beat chain expectations. The main complaint comes from a long-time Loungers customer who found breakfast overpriced and half its former size, with a minimal, brown avocado add-on, though even that review called the floor staff attentive and professional. One reviewer reported a minor order problem that was sorted within minutes.

“We had a lovely afternoon lunch here. The flatbread was fantastic. Our server (I think she was called Hattie?!) was so attentive and made us feel really welcome; will defo be back!”

“My wife and I have brunch in here a couple of Sundays a month after walking our dog around St George's park. The fact that we keep going back tells a story in itself, but I wanted to be a little more specific. The decor is very nice and there is a choice of seating types from traditional table to a more relaxed lounge type chair. Service is good and the staff are cheerful. Waiting time for food is fine and the food itself is very nice. I've never had a bad meal here. They also allow dogs which is great.”

“Compared to the quality of food in previous years, of which I have come to expect from Loungers, the current state of the menu is extremely disappointing. Breakfast used to be the best thing here, now it’s overpriced and half the size it used to be. The avocado add on charger at £2.60 was minimal and brown. How is this business go so wrong! This used to be a staple of the bristol coffee shop scene, now it’s just another rip off high street cafe. The floor staff were the only good thing about the place, very attentive and professional.”

“Absolutely loved this place! The interior is stylish and welcoming — the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to stay a little longer. The food was delicious, with generous portions and flavors that genuinely impressed us. What really stood out, though, was the service. Alex was absolutely outstanding — attentive, warm, and professional. He made the whole experience feel special. And with prices this reasonable, there's really no reason not to come back. Highly recommend!”

“Had a smashed avo & bacon today - credit where credit is due, it was lovely. Compliments to the chef”
