Customer Review Summary
Sunday roast is what reviewers return to most, with the slow cooked lamb, the roast beef and the lamb shoulder all praised, along with crispy roast potatoes, gravy, yorkshire pudding and a vegan wellington. One diner calls the pork skin crispy and another singles out a sticky toffee pudding made on site. Close behind are the small plates and pizzas, including a smoked mackerel pizza, a rabbit and chorizo stew with flatbread, arancini, olives and tender stem broccoli, which one reviewer calls the standout over an average caesar salad. Staff come up repeatedly as friendly and helpful, and the rooftop terrace is liked for its views and for seating a group of eight together. The criticisms are narrower. One parent found the child's pasta a tiny portion of penne with shop bought tomato sauce for the price, and thought the pizza thinner and crispier than they like. Another wants a wine list, since without one or prices the choice depends on who is behind the bar. The same parent still thanked staff for adding cheese to the pasta at no extra cost.

“Stumbled across this venue on our first day in Bristol. What a find! It had just opened and so not many people in so atmosphere was low key, but we had an outside table and the eight of us could sit together looking over the roof tops in a great roof top space. Reggie behind the bar and serving our food was fantastic, so helpful, friendly and provided great service with a smile. It was a wonderful welcoming introduction to a great city.”

“Great sunday roast. We had lamb shoulder, the typical beef roast and cauliflower with cheese. All delicious meals”

“Came here with family for Sunday Roast. The beef was perfectly cooked, crispy potatoes and great gravy. The vegan wellington was delicious too. Sticky Toffee Pudding made on site was light and delicious. Would love a wine list to choose from as the wines on offer are very good but no list or prices makes it a bit hit or miss depending on who is behind the bar. Our waiter Matt deserves a shoutout, he really was professional, personable and friendly, which added to our enjoyment of our Sunday family meal.”

“Went to the wardrobe Theatre which is at the back of the Old market assembly and what an amazing place. Great! Staff really supportive and helpful for accessibility. Didn't have food, just a drink.”

“Been working in Bristol for years but never ventured here before for some strange reason. My bad! Nice welcome and warm, efficient service. Relaxed but lovely dining - small plates and pizzas seem to be their thing. I had a lemon n something arincini (yum) along with a rabbit n chorizo stew and an amazing flat bread to mop up the juices. All washed down with a delish spanish red wine. Perfect. Do yourself a favour and visit soon!”
