About Cafe Dream

On Gloucester Rd, Cafe Dream is a coffee shop and cafe run by a husband and wife team, open daytime hours Monday to Saturday and closed Sundays. The space inside is small, with outdoor seating providing extra room for outdoor dining. Walk-ins are welcome, as there is no booking system in place. The menu covers a falafel salad, jacket potato, and a 3 egg omelette, with a vege sausage option among the breakfast choices, alongside iced coffee and cake. High chairs are available for families with young children, and dogs are welcome inside. The walls are hung with artwork, which customers can buy, giving the room a changing display beyond the usual cafe fittings.

Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often single out the falafel salad, described as homemade and decorated with edible flowers, and one pairs it with feta. Close behind are the breakfasts: an all day breakfast served hot and freshly cooked, a three egg omelette one diner calls beautifully decorated, and vege sausages another says are out of this world. A jacket potato, an iced coffee and a slice of cake that was not too sweet also get named. Reviewers repeatedly describe the staff and the husband and wife owners as friendly and welcoming, and several call the food good value and the place clean, cosy and comfortable, with one noting the air conditioning on a hot day. None of the reviews raise a complaint. One group of colleagues who arrived as nine instead of three says the team rearranged tables so everyone could sit together, and brought a birthday sweet treat and soft drink to one diner.

“Warm and welcoming coffee place! Everything was delicious. The salad was really good, I really enjoyed it. Everything was fresh! Went back for a piece of cake and it was really good and not too sweet. I would really recommend to go and enjoy a nice brunch there when it's sunny.”

“We had such a lovely lunch at Cafe Dream today — honestly, it couldn’t have been more perfect. The jacket potato was cooked to perfection, fluffy on the inside with just the right crisp on the outside, and paired beautifully with a delicious, comforting coffee. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, making it such a relaxing place to sit and enjoy a meal. You can really tell there’s care put into both the food and the experience. A little gem that we’ll definitely be coming back to — highly recommended! ☕🥔✨”

“If a warm welcome, quality food and attentive service with a beaming smile float your boat, Cafe Dream is for you. This is the definition of “love your local”. A terrific neighborhood cafe, no, a haven, set on the bustling Gloucester Road. I was pretty much the first in today. The picture captures what a spotless, varied (menu) and comfy place this is. I can see why it’s called Cafe Dream 💭”
  • Joanne Rosser
“I dropped my grandson at gymnastics and needed breakfast and saw this opposite. Wow what a find. I had the 3 egg omelette and what came out was the most beautifully decorated omelette ever. The taste was amazing and I will definitely be back. I would highly recommend.”
