About Jessie’s Cafe

Jessie's Cafe is a breakfast and lunch spot on Redcatch Rd in Bristol, open for walk-ins Monday to Saturday during the day. The English Breakfast anchors the menu, with beans and tomatoes served in separate dishes so their juices stay apart from the rest of the plate. Portions can be scaled larger or smaller, and everything is cooked to order rather than held ready. Dogs are welcome, and they're given sausages and water while their owners eat. Music plays through the room during service. The wider menu offers a varied selection beyond the breakfast plate, giving regulars something different to work through across visits.

Customer Review Summary

Reviewers come mainly for the full English breakfast, with several calling it among the best fry ups they have had, citing runny eggs, perfectly cooked bacon and lovely sausages, all cooked to order. Portions are described as large, with options to go larger or smaller, and one reviewer singles out the flavour of the tomatoes and the beans and tomatoes served in separate dishes so the juices do not run. Close behind is the friendly service, with reviewers describing the staff as helpful and going the extra mile, and the cafe as a local spot used by tradesmen and families, grandkids included. Value and variety of menu come up repeatedly. The criticism is thin. One reviewer asks for a change of sausage supplier, and a delivery driver gave one star after describing a kitchen running 30 minutes late on an order and expecting the driver to come back for it. One dog owner notes the staff gave their dog sausages and water without being asked.

“Arrogant, hostile, and clearly doesn't understand how delivery works. If your kitchen is running 30 minutes late on an order, that is your failure, not the driver's. Expecting a driver to pay for your slow service by wasting their own time and fuel to 'come back' is pure stupidity. The driver's job is to deliver what the app assigns; the shop's job is to have the food ready. If you can’t manage the timing of two orders at once, quit the delivery platforms and just serve people in the restaurant. Absolute joke of a business.”

“I found this gem because I took a friend out to breakfast who lives nearby. The value is superb, service was friendly and helpful, and we both really enjoyed the breakfasts. I will certainly go back for more, Jessie's was really busy when we arrived, which speaks for itself :) 100% recommended, thumbs up!”
