On the second Sunday of each month it hosts a northern soul night, with DJs, a dancefloor and a playlist of Motown and Stax tracks, which gives dancers a regular monthly date. Friday nights bring live music. The food menu covers burgers, tapas dishes and hot beef and chips, and a deal applies to 2 selected mains. The interior is spacious, with seating inside. Sunday roast is also served, with a two-course option.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often return for the monthly northern soul nights, where a packed dancefloor, classic Motown and Stax tracks and guest DJ sets get repeated praise, and one reviewer says the bar staff keep things moving even when the ice runs out in hot weather. Food draws close behind, with reviewers naming tapas, burgers and a Sunday roast with butternut squash soup and creamy garlic mushrooms, plus a cheap mains deal and decent cocktails. The recurring complaint is slow, uneven kitchen service. One reviewer reports waiting at least an hour for food on each visit, another waited over half an hour and found the hot beef fatty with the gravy forgotten, and chunky chips came out uncooked or greasy for two others. A few add that a lone server covered the whole restaurant and that asking staff for things felt like an imposition. One soul night reviewer wished for burgers and chips on the menu and went to a nearby takeaway for a chicken burger instead.

“A great venue Especially when it’s sunny out. A great selection of food and drink. A bit expensive. The only thing is each time I’ve been I’ve waited for at least an hour for my food. There’s always a really long wait. The food is yummy when it finally comes but if you are in a rush don’t bother ordering food.”

“Waited over half an hour to be served from ordering. Had to go and ask where our food was as I thought we'd been forgotten. I kind have wish we had and gone elsewhere. I had the hot beef. It was a few slices of very fatty beef, not slow cooked as you'd normally expect. They forgot the gravy. How can you mess chips up? They tasted of nothing but grease from a pan that's not had the oil changed for a year. The place wasn't even busy.”

“Went for a Sunday roast, good value, two courses for £20. The starters were both amazing, butternut squash and sweet potato soup, and creamy garlic mushrooms. We both had the beef roast, apart from the supposed mash potato and roast potatoes these were lovely too, veg not overcooked and beef was thick, gravy was tasty. The only issue I had was I felt I was putting staff out whenever I asked for anything, not sure if they were understaffed or whether the manager had a bit too much of a tight reign on things but it just didn't feel as enjoyable as it should. Thanks to the staff anyway”
