Customer Review Summary
Service draws the most praise, with several reviewers singling out servers and bar staff as friendly, welcoming and attentive, even on a busy match evening. Diners describe a calm, comfy room and a Sunday roast that arrived hot with plenty of veg and well cooked meat. Ordering by QR code or app is described as easy, with drinks and meals coming quickly. One match-day visitor marked the pub down for having no cask ale. The sharpest criticism comes from one returning diner, who found the fish and chips batter too oily, the chicken platter overpriced for its size and the meat feast pizza heavy on meat with hardly any cheese, and who was ignored at the bar after pointing out that a later arrival was served first. Another reviewer describes the bar staff checking with the kitchen, which agreed to make a jacket potato after the lunch menu had ended.

“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Had a brilliant time at The Yorkshire Rose! With the football season back, it’s such a great place to go for food, drinks and watching the sport. The atmosphere was fantastic and the staff really made the experience. A special mention to Brad, who was absolutely brilliant. He was friendly, welcoming and really looked after us, making sure everything was sorted while the place was busy. It’s staff like Brad who make you want to come back again. Great food, great atmosphere and great service — especially from Brad! ⚽️🍻🌹 Definitely recommend The Yorkshire Rose, especially with the new football season getting underway!”

“Very busy on a match day evening understandably. Staff coped really well IMO. Standard pub chain food menu which was fine. Marked down because of no cask ale. Reasonably close to the ground and away fans allowed.”

“We arrived after the lunch menu was no longer available, but my mum really wanted a jacket potato from the lunch menu. I asked the bar staff if that would be possible, and she found out from the kitchen team that they would be happy to oblige us. Our food arrived promptly, was excellent quality and large portions. The atmosphere was pleasant, the environment was well-presented and the tidiness and cleanliness were superb.”

“I had a really great experience at the Yorkshire Rose, and a big part of that was thanks to our waitress, Courtney. From the moment we sat down, she was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely attentive without ever being overbearing. Courtney made sure we were comfortable, checked in at just the right times, and handled everything with a calm, professional attitude. She knew the menu well, gave helpful recommendations, and made the whole experience feel relaxed and enjoyable. It’s not always easy to find service that feels this natural and thoughtful, but Courtney absolutely nailed it. She’s a real credit to the Yorkshire Rose, and I’d happily come back again knowing we’d be in such good hands.”
