About The Viking Chef
The Viking Chef is a small restaurant on Castle Terrace in Bridgnorth, set at the top of the hill within reach of the town's funicular railway. Animal skins laid over the seating carry a Viking theme through the room, and the back terrace has festoon lighting with views across town. The kitchen covers a full dinner menu alongside summer small plates, with Sunday brunch served as a separate offering. Pastries anchor the baking side, including a featured Danish pastry and a raspberry roulade on the dessert list. Dogs are welcome, and the team runs a full table service, with high chairs set aside for younger children.

“We've been to Viking Chef several times now for the full dinner menu, summer small plates, and brunch - we can't stop coming back! It's a beautiful, cozy venue, the food is always incredible, great drink selection, but it's the staff that make the experience so very worth it. Such a lovely bunch, genuinely thoughtful and amazing customer service. Cannot recommend this place enough!!”

“Been wanting to visit here for ages as been given lots of excellent feedback off friends and family. Was lovely to see a full restaurant on a Thursday evening. Our food was of excellent quality and the raspberry roulade was to die for. Lovely friendly service off Sarah and a young waitress (forgot name sorry). Will definitely be back with my husband (possibly breakfast next time). Highly recommend”

“Small café-restaurant tucked away on top of the hill near the funicular. Mixture of living and plastic plants didn't detract from the food (we were there for Sunday brunch) which was... excellent! Clean toilet, attentive staff. The terrace was nice on a sunny day. Price was good value. The Viking element (apart from the food) were the animal skins we sat on... though I didn't inspect them to see if they were real, though I suspected they weren't. Anyway... if you don't like the idea you can always remove them. Overall... very very good indeed! A gem!”

“We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, we were in a group of 6 adults and a 1 year old. They gave us a high chair, great service and were lovely with the baby. The food as well I must say was fantastic! Highly recommend!”

“I can't rate this place well enough. It deserves the praise it gets. A lovely spot (especially outside) with great views and really tasty food, freshly prepared. The staff go above and beyond, to ensure you enjoy the experience. It's clear there is plenty of return custom. What ever you do, try the Danish Pastry!”
