Customer Review Summary
Lamb chop is the dish reviewers name most, praised by one diner as worth a perfect score for flavour and questioned by another for arriving as three chops at a steep price. Close behind are the lamb and chicken kebabs, skewers and grill platter, which reviewers call delicious, along with the Turkish bread that reminded one diner of her hometown and a generous serving of free bread. Friendly staff come up repeatedly. One reviewer says even a solo diner feels like part of a group of friends, and another says staff immediately registered a bell pepper allergy. The recurring complaint is value. Portions feel small for the price, with a two-person platter and a starter barely filling one couple, calamari arriving as three small rings where an earlier visit brought four, and a chilli sauce that tasted of Indian spices to a Turkish diner. Reviewers also mention the canal view and the old phone and globe decorations. One server brought a free brownie with ice cream and sang happy birthday to a diner's daughter.

“This is our second time at Galata Pera Turkish Cuisine, and once again, everything was absolutely amazing! The food is delicious, beautifully prepared and full of flavour. The service is excellent, and the whole experience is warm and welcoming from start to finish. A special mention to Chef Sajid, who clearly puts so much passion into the food. You can really taste the care and quality in every dish! We will definitely be back again and would highly recommend Galata Pera to anyone looking for amazing Turkish food, great service and a wonderful dining experience. Thank you for another fantastic meal....will be back.”

“The food here was so amazing!!! I would give a 10/10 for the Lamb chop. The Turkish bread they served reminded me of a similar bread in my hometown. Highly recommended!”

“This was my second visit last Friday. In terms of taste, it was good; apart from the kofte, the skewers and other meats were delicious, but the portions are very small. My wife and I barely did get full from the 2-person platter and we also ordered a starter, but considering the price, the portions felt very small to me as a Turkish person. I ordered calamari and was served 3 small rings; on my first visit, there were 4. The chilli sauce tasted like Indian spices, so I didn't mix it in to avoid feeling like I was eating an Indian kebab. Overall, the taste is good, but I think there is a discrepancy between the prices and the portion sizes.”

“Food was tasty and fresh. But, I do not believe you’re getting good value here, the portions are quite small for the price. About £30 for three lamb chops, that’s £10 per chop, is quite ridiculous. The staff were incredibly friendly. The restaurant itself is rustic, albeit a tad dated, but you do get a lovely view of the canal.”
