About Sultans Restaurant
Sultans Restaurant serves Pakistani cooking on Keighley Rd in Bradford, where curries are ordered in medium or large and the team advises how many people each size will feed, so a table can size an order to the group rather than guess. The kitchen works in the Bradford curry idiom, with karahi prepared in the traditional style in chicken or lamb, and masala dishes running through the menu in chicken, mutton and fish. Chapatis are made fresh and thin, and more come out on request. Meals run as table service, with waiters bringing poppadoms and a tray of sauces and pickle, and chutney served alongside the food. Tables are taken on a walk-in basis, so no reservation is needed. A step-free entrance means visitors with mobility needs can get in without steps. The dining room opens Wednesday through Sunday and stays closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Customer Review Summary
Chicken and lamb karahi draw the most praise, described as traditional in style with a rich, flavoursome masala and thin, warm, freshly made rotis. Close behind are the mutton chop curry, which one couple still remembered after two years, the fish masala, and a chicken masala called full of flavour. Reviewers also mention an unusual chutney, fish pakoras and a jug of mango lassi, and describe friendly service with food arriving almost instantly. The complaints are specific. One reviewer found the lamb karahi portion tiny and received only four meatballs in the kofty, calling both poor value. Another says poppadoms and a sauce tray came without it being made clear they were charged, and that staff underestimated how far the medium chicken masala would stretch, leaving a shocking bill. A vegetarian found no vegetarian starters and only two mains, though the dahl was tasty. Extra chapattis reportedly arrive within minutes of asking.

“Abdullah in particular was very attentive, nothing was too much trouble. At first we got turned away, however the owner said chicken or meat which was perfect us. Exceeded expectations and I appreciate you fitting me.”

“DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY AT THIS JOKE OF A RESTAURANT! Went there expecting proper Bradford curry and got absolutely ROBBED blind. For £15 on the Lamb Karahi they served me a portion so pathetic it looked like a toddler’s happy meal. I’m not even joking, a child could finish that in two bites. Where’s the meat? Where’s the actual Karahi? Then the Kofty (meatballs), another £15 for literally FOUR meatballs. FOUR!!! I counted them like a fool waiting for more to appear. That’s highway robbery at its finest. £15 for four sad little balls? I could buy a pack of frozen ones from the supermarket and make better ones at home for a fiver. This is daylight theft disguised as “authentic” food. The green tea? Tasted like boiled dishwater with noodles floating in regret. Absolutely flavourless garbage. Service was “ok” I guess, if you enjoy being politely scammed. But the food quality and portion sizes are an absolute farce. Sultans isn’t a restaurant – it’s a scam operation preying on people who just want a decent curry. Stay far away unless you enjoy paying premium prices for microscopic portions and disappointment. Bradford deserves better than this clown show. Never going back, and neither should you. Total waste of time and hard-earned money. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Worst curry experience in years 0/10”

“Came for an evening meal. No vegetarian starters due to the fact there are “not many vegetarians” in the area. Two vegetarian main meals, which I had the dahl and it was tasty and came with 3x chapati for £11. But overall disappointing options for vegetarians. Won’t be recommending or returning”

“Had a fantastic meal at Sultans. The chicken masala was absolutely delicious, full of flavour and cooked perfectly. The starters were also excellent and a great way to start the meal. What really stood out was the service, which was 10/10; the staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel really welcome throughout. Great food and great atmosphere, we’ll definitely be back!”

“They specialise in authentic Pakistani food. The Karahi is superb. They make it in the traditional style with rich flavoursome masala. Incredibly tasty. We ordered both the chicken and the lamb karahi and both were delicious. The rotis were freshly made, thin and warm: just the way they should be. Service was quick and attentive. One of the best karahis I've had.”
